This is so beautifully written and so true at this time xx
I woke up this morning with this image in my mind. For good reason.
It's a very tough time to be a bride or groom planning a 2020 wedding right now. You may have picked 2020 because it sounded like such a cool year. We couldn't have known the direction things would go.
We don't need to discuss here all of the hurt & frustration this has brought, and likely will continue to cause. You already know. And for my couples, you'll receive an email from me today addressing this.
But the reason I woke up this morning thinking of Amy & Tim's last dance at their wedding was this:
They cleared the room. They sent every guest outside at the end of the night so that it was just the two of them. Alone. Focused on each other. Eyes on their spouse - not the pomp & circumstance of the day.
I posted about this in real time on Instagram Stories when this was happening at their wedding & received the most DMs I've ever gotten. Do you know why?
Because at the end of the day, you each know the same thing. This is about YOU TWO. The day is important. The people are important. But the marriage is the MOST important.
So if you are a couple who is facing a wedding day reschedule and you're home on your wedding day instead of where you thought you'd be, do me a favor. Clear your living room of furniture & have your first dance. Just the two of you. With or without the rings just yet & maybe even in your pajamas. Focus on what is in front of you. Because you're one of the lucky ones, did you know that? You have family that you care deeply about - so much so that you want to keep them home & healthy. You have friends that adore you - and that you love too much to bring into the public right now. You have the love of a lifetime that people search their WHOLE LIVES FOR & sometimes never find.
You will be okay. Close your eyes & dance through it. We'll make it through this, friends. And when your walk down the aisle comes, it will be that much more magical because of it.

STUNNING SPARKLES AT THE YACHT A fabulously glamorous party at The Royal Yacht with our silver chair covers and silver organza sashes. Table decorations were a stylish mix of our black and white feathers, silver birdcages, candelabra and lots of crystals all set off by our shining ceiling mirror balls.
* Simple Sophistication at The Savoy * A super stylish room setting with our black and white chair covers and contrasting satin sashes with our table decorations of silver candelabra hung with crystals, more candles and crystals and a splash of colour of red roses in martini vases.
ELEGANT NAVY A stylish wedding at The Savoy Hotel with our fresh white chair covers and elegant navy organza sashes and table runners creating a beautiful feel.
SILVER & SOFT PINK A beautiful small wedding at the Grand Hotel with the ceremony room dressed with our white chair covers and silver organza sashes. Our white aisle runner and petals, decorated bay trees and lanterns added to the elegant feel. The private reception room had a stunning long table set with our globe bowls and roses, tealights, petals and sparkles.
Black & White & Sparkly Our very elegant black and white chair covers with satin sashes and black table runners to draw it altogether. We set up a mix of table centrepieces with silver birdcages, a trio of candles and a floral centrepiece all draped with masses of crystals to sparkle beautifully in the candlelight.
SOMETIMES IT'S FUN TO BE DIFFERENT White is beautiful but we also have chair covers in lots of different shades and hundreds of sashes. Here are our Cadbury Purple and Gold in a stunning combination for dramatic impact. So you can be soft, elegant, stylish, colourful or just plain out there !!!
DRAMATIC & OPULENT MASKED BALL The brief was to create a rich and elegant atmosphere for a masked ball. We set the scene with our black chair covers dressed with gold organza sashes and set up a mix of table centrepieces, all with candles and dressed with lots of feathers and masks in black, red and gold draped with pearls.
ROYAL BLUE AT THE ROYAL YACHT We loved creating this stylish look for a wedding at the Royal Yacht using our fresh white chair covers with beautiful royal blue organza sashes. The ceiling was hung with a mix of white and royal blue paper lanterns to create a lovely effect.
1940's WarTime Party We love providing all types of decor for events and this was great fun to do using simple metal lanterns and hurricane vases with jam jar tealights on the tables to create a wartime birthday party at The Ommaroo Hotel. There were lots of Union Jacks, of course, and our red and blue organza sashes to add colour.
A beautiful wedding at the Hotel Ambassadeur with our fresh white chair covers and gorgeous dark purple patterned sashes. The bride wanted simple silver centrepieces with our silver birdcages set on a mirror base with small purple lilies and surrounding tealights finished off with lots of purple scatter crystals to add more sparkle to the tables. Our white wishing well was also decorated with matching sashes.
SPRING COLOURS Loved these soft pastel colours we used for a Gala Charity Dinner. They are the colours of the charity but also perfectly spring like !. Set against our crisp white chair covers the room looked amazing. So sometimes its good to use more than one colour sash to give extra interest to a setting.
ELEGANT NAVY A lovely wedding in the Leopold Suite at The Grand with our white chair covers and elegant navy organza sashes. We added our pair of decorated bay trees, white pedestals with lanterns and white aisle runner with silk petals to create a beautiful ceremony room.
Sometimes all you need is black and white, feathers and crystals. An elegant evening party at The Royal Yacht with our black chair covers and white satin sashes, and our black and white feathers hung with crystals
A stunning wedding at The Royal Hotel with our white chair covers and navy blue organza sashes. We dressed our elegant silver birdcages with glitter butterflies as table centrepieces and our wishing well and wish tree were both decorated with more beautiful butterflies.
