Hey friends. It’s been a long transition. Tomorrow I leave Idaho to Oregon for a new chapter. My adventures, challenges and memories here go with me and give me all the expectations that there will be more of those same things in new places. What is hard to leave are the beautiful people. Thank you for being in my life. The creative/wedding community ,friends and my clients have given me so much love. I promise to get more active here again as I move to rebrand a bit and start sometime new and exciting. I’ll also always watch each of you, cheering you on in your beautiful lives. I am sending hugs to you all and as my Grandma always said “ Do all things with love and creativity…live Just so….. ❤️ Kara

Regional magazine V-6 featured
Katie and Justins wedding with some gorgeous detail and stunning design. This was such a beautiful classic style. The flowers included two centerpiece styles, one tall design in glass vases with branching foliage to give height to the tent venue. The second a full floral compote vase of luxe flowers and fruit.

Custom linen alway makes table stunning and rich with added texture and color. Heidi’s best designs always have gorgeous linen choices.

Katies Bouquet was a dream to create with romantic roses and classic black and white anemone. The textual touches and coleus and begonia foliage was such a unique touch that really paid off.

This bouquet also received some accolades that I will share in my next post! Hint , honored to make this list…..

I was recently with Sam in her studio and we were working with our client on her 2021 wedding floral inspiration. At one point Sam went and pulled from her wall a large beautiful print of an image taken by the talented and incredible photographers, . It was the image of a bridal bouquet, and Sam had placed that print on a prominent place in her beautiful studio. As she showed the photo to our client, and talked about the flowers , it was only then I realized that the bouquet was my work. Two things I learned right then and there.
1-We undervalue our selves and our abilities and literally do not recognize them even when they are right in front of us. 2-The appreciation and value that people I respect and love give to my work, means everything to me. I’m serious when I say that having my work displayed by Sam meant more to me than if it had been in a museum. Thank you to all the lovely friends in this industry who have survived this year with beauty and grace. Thank you to them and my followers , friends and clients who lift me to heights I never imagined. It’s taking me a while to get the love and energy back for wedding flowers after a strange and challenging year, but knowing I have a place in beautiful people’s studios, homes and hearts give me all the ❤️

Maybe this will send ❤️ and 😃 your way too. This styled shoot was the first project I had since Feb 2020. It was so fabulous to be with creatives again and make beautiful things. The team was perfect and it was a day full of joy. Can’t wait to share it all in a few months. I hit send and here it is... a private page where we can learn about race and racism. I’m excited , nervous and determined. I am no expert but want to share and learn together.
When I read what that Kareem Abdul Jabber wrote in the Los Angeles times on May 20 , 2020. I could not get it out of my mind. I have been wanting to start this page for some time, but finding a name for it was eluding me. The image of dust and how in the dark we cant see it. As the light shines on it, it becomes clear that it was always there. This is how I feel as I have looked at Racism closer. It has taken time and venerable and uncomfortable moments and a open heart. But now I see the dust everywhere, I want it to be seen by others who are looking.
Thank you for joining me in this. If you would like to be apart please do so. All that is needed is an open heart and mind and the desire to learn more on this human issue. I also mentioned some pages to follow and reading to do to prepare for some starting discussion if you would like. They are in previous posts or message me.
The artwork I chose for the group is so special. My cousin Carol Neilson passed away in Jan. 2020. She was an example of every thing I could hope to be when it comes to acceptance and value of all people. She taught middle school for 30 years. English and Literature. She was a budding artist and I hope to honor her with the starting of this group and her painting of the sun shining though the dark trees giving color and light to all. I love you Carol and wish you were here to be apart of the conversations. I hope to make you proud.

Isn’t this beautiful? I love the simple elements yet also the drama of it. The last few months I’ve hoped and craved for the simple, but life is not always like that. Yet the beauty still finds a way. I’ve been quiet since early summer but I have not been content. I have taken time to dive deep into the issues of race. That in this moment the call for justice has finally reached so many of us has given me hope. But it must to continue I commit to doing my part. You’ll be hearing so much more from me and I am so grateful to those who are learning along with me. My Facebook group is growing and you are all invited. I want a better world for us , especially for those who have fought so long for equality and justice. Jumping back on social media right now to talk about pretty wedding things, flowers and such , has honestly been a challenge for me. But I’m finally ready. Ready to serve my wonderful clients , who have had to fight to secure their special days. (I am all in for you guys and can’t wait to make it happen for you 💕 ) I’m ready and so needing to see my vendor friends who have swerved and pivoted and survived the summer. I miss and admire each of you! ❤️ And most of all I’m so grateful for the chance to create a day for my Daughter and her Fiance that will fill their days with beautiful memories to offset the hard ones 2020 have brought them. I am so proud of their strength. So .... let the love begin!! Vegas will be a first and we are excited. We have a vendor team that are some of my all time fave souls and some new exciting design and a Vegas venue to die for. My fall clients are amazing and I can’t wait to share them with you all. Keep watching .eventfloral because we aren’t done trying to surprise and inspire you in all the ways!!!

Quick... a few more fall photos! We drove through snow ❄️ coming home from Oregon today so the time is running short! But let’s enjoy the stunning light and colors here in our shoot before we go all red and green on everything.
Also, can you even with these models and their hair and makeup. .hines .hoff Stunning... and those gowns are unreal. The bouquets have the most gorgeous tinted maple leaves in them. I died when I was designing with them.

It’s been such a struggle for me to get back to posting on social. I do love, love seeing the beauty that can appear here and I want to contribute more of that. I feel only photographers would understand this, but I have dreamt of this image. I knew where I wanted to take it, the light that would be there, & the how I would pose the bride. It was so carefully calculated in my mind. Seeing it come to life is the best feeling! As a creative, there is nothing that makes me more excited! . .

A white flower grows in the quietness
I’m a floral person in the same way I’m also a paper person, a lake person, and a dog person. I’m no expert on them but I know they make my heart flip.
Wedding flowers are a detail I watch for and fully appreciate the beauty of, when I’m photographing. It’s the scent, the texture, the layers, and the perfection of them I really love. 🌸

Life is quite a ride kids! So much beauty happening today for me after a darker day yesterday. I’m grateful. This announcement is an honor and something I’m so incredibly thrilled to be apart of. I want talk more about it (and .eventfloral 4th birthday 🧁) today , in a live story I will do at 5 pm.! I’m not sure I can do justice to .eventfloral story... if you want a story of inspiration, Kara is it. And what I love, her story reminds me of many of YOUR stories.
Our paths crossed, Kara shared that she had been a retail florist for Albertsons 13 years and was dreaming to leave retail life, be able to design on her terms and create a brand that represented her love for flowers and blessing others. Her last child was off to college... but, now what. How to get started? How to market herself? How to be an event only floral designer without being tied to a storefront? Kara has the incredible talent and passion, Jonnathan and I guided her through the next steps, but this woman’s drive, skill and client experience propelled her into the success she has.

We now celebrate Kara’s 4th Year as Just So. Event Floral today! Have you seen what this remarkable woman has accomplished?!!!! She is one of the most in demand floral designers in our state! She has been published multiple times including Martha Stewart Weddings, featured on more wedding blogs than we can count and voted Top Ten bouquet by Joywed. Set all that aside, she has a heart of gold! She never speaks one negative word about anyone. She has wisdom that Jonnathan and I often turn to.
