La Danza Dance Club

La Danza Dance Club La Danza was a Stillwater, Minnesota, ballroom dance club which began June 12, 1972 and dissolved August 31, 2024.

La Danza is a 501(c)(7) Social Club formed in June 1972. Our dance season typically includes four (4) ballroom dance events (October or November, December, March, and April) and are held at a Stillwater dance venue, with live music provided by local area bands. Dance styles included on our event dance card are: Fox Trot, Waltz, Cha Cha, Rumba, Samba, Tango, Swing, West Coast Swing, Night Club 2-St

ep, and Specialty (Polka, OT Waltz, etc.) We usually open and close our season with a Fall (September or October) and Spring (May or June) BBQ & Barn Dance, held at an authentic barn in Lake Elmo. Membership* is encouraged, though, not required. Guests* are welcome at all events.

*La Danza Membership and Guest fees are per couple.

Barbecue and barn dance at the private Big Red Barn located in
the Fields of Saint Croix, Phase I, Lake Elmo, Minnesota.

Welcome all dancers, metro area dance clubs,
and guests!

Barbecue 6:00-7:15 PM
Bring a dish to share (optional), food to grill, lawn chairs, and your own beverages. Plates, napkins, cutlery, bottled water, and grills will be provided.
Dance 7:30-10:00 PM

LIVE Ballroom, Latin, Swing, and Variety dance music provided by Rod Cerar and his Band

Attire & Dance Floor:
Country Casual – The Barn has an authentic wood dance floor
To protect the dance floor, please bring your soft-soled dance shoes; please do not dance in street shoes.

Directions to the Barn (from eastbound MN Hwy 36)
➢ Take the Stillwater Boulevard Exit and move to the right turn lane
➢ At the traffic light turn south onto Stillwater Boulevard (Stillwater Motors will be on your right)
➢ Drive 1.4 miles
➢ Turn west onto Linden Trail N (located between Stillwater Area High School & Washington County
Fairgrounds on opposite side of road)
➢ Take the second left; Barn is straight ahead
➢ Park around inside circle only; DO NOT park on the grass

Our Story

La Danza Dance Club is a ballroom dance club that schedules four (4) dance-events a year, generally September to April. We hold our themed events at The Heights Hall & Club, a beautiful and spacious ballroom. Local bands and musicians provide our members and guests with live Ballroom, Latin, Swing, dance music. Our events are open to dancers of all skill levels. Guests are always welcome! (Membership is encouraged, not required).

Each event usually begins with a 6:30 - 7:30 pm Social Hour, which may include appetizers for purchase, and a 7:30 - 10:30/11 pm dance, which includes two (2) band breaks.

In addition to our 4 events at The Heights, we generally open and close our dance season with a September/October (Fall) and a May/June (Spring) “BBQ & Barn Dance” held in an authentic, traditional barn in Lake Elmo. These fun, casual, low-cost events are potluck, we enjoy good company, and we dance to recorded music.
