Last but not least, thanks to Giles Mealor, clarinetist and personal friend of Pete Fountain, a fellow clarinetist who brought his high-spirited brand of Dixieland jazz far beyond his native New Orleans to a national audience through frequent TV appearances. Giles acquainted the organizers of the Mardi Gras Parade & Festival held in Stone Mountain this year with Pete Fountainβs whimsically named Mardi Gras Krewe: the Pete Fountain Half-Fast Walking Club which has been entertaining Mardi Gras spectators in New Orleans for over 65 years and is now a historic and beloved personification of the spirit of New Orleansβ musical legend, Pete Fountain.
Produced by Bundos Entertainment Company, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, the Mardi Gras Parade & Festival in Stone Mountain is a free event dedicated to promoting community engagement and attracting visitors, residents, and businesses to the local community. The mission of Bundos includes creating experiences that improve the quality of life by generating economic, social, and therapeutic benefits to local communities in Georgia.
