This project is more than just a memorial; it’s a powerful tribute to the rich history and enduring legacy of the African-American community in Kendleton, Texas and beyond. The excitement and pride felt by the community during the ceremony were palpable, as this project has been long-anticipated and is deeply significant for everyone. Once completed, this memorial will stand as a symbol of resilience, remembrance, and respect, honoring those who have paved the way for future generations…”Standing On The Shoulders of Giants”. Although the weather altered outdoor county Juneteenth festivities, Landmark Community Center hosted the inaugural FBC Juneteenth Community Honors Dinner in collaboration with, Office of Fort Bend County Judge KP George, Grady Prestage, and Missouri City Juneteenth Celebration Foundation.
