The Seacoast Church Summerville Warming Center will be open TONIGHT (Dec. 19) due to cold weather.
Admission hours are 7:00pm to 9:00pm.
The Warming Center entrance is located on Gum St. at the back door. Men, women, and families are welcome. There are no current accommodations for animals.
Tri County Link can provide free transportation to and from the Center along their standard route.

Today is one of the happiest days of the year! Santa is coming to visit! Join us anytime 5-8pm tonight. We will be offering our kids pizza for $5 with choice of Pepperoni or cheese and cups of hot cocoa with marshmallows for $1. We are still open serving food and holiday drinks to everyone.

Stingrays vs. Orlando Solar Bears
The Stingrays will honor America’s finest all game long and don specialty jerseys for their annual Military Appreciation Night, presented by Campers Inn RV. Game-worn jerseys will be auctioned off during the game benefitting Palmetto Military Support Group.

Due to projected inclement weather, the Dorchester County Sheriff's Office Santa's Workshop event will now occur this Saturday, Dec. 16, from 10:00am to 1:00pm.
Please be sure to visit Ashley River Park (200 Renken Road, Summerville) for a festive, fun-filled family event. Meet the officers who help keep us safe and Santa & Mrs. Claus all at the same time and place.

1. Reach Out (Phone Call, text Message, E-mail)
2. Meet Up (Coffee, lunch, a hug)
3. Lend A Hand (Volunteer your time at an American Legion)
4. Adopt A Family (Invite over a veteran and or family who’s spouse is deployed. Sponsor them with gifts.) see Center for American Progress or Soldiers' Angels
5. Spend Time At Your Local VA Hospital
6. Participate in Corporate Matching Gifts
7. Donate Supplies for Convalescing Veterans
8. Join a Local Stand Down for Homeless Vets
9. Offer Support for Vets with PTSD
10. **Pay It Forward** Remember that Kindness is a powerful medicine for the soul – both for the giver and the receiver!
Please remember to be kind, you don’t know who is struggling with increased loneliness, isolation, depression, anxiety, or issues with Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD).

We apologize for the inconvenience and are greatly disappointed to announce that our December 1st monthly car cruise will be canceled. Due to medical circumstances beyond our control our leader is dealing with medical difficulties and we don't have anyone to help with the December 1st event. ALC will be sending out the January cruise event soon and the James Island County Park will continue to support the American Legion in their future events. Happy Holidays!

Come get out, enjoy our wonderful town, celebrate the winter in the arms of the evergreen trees. Summerville American Legion Post 21 will be on West Richardson at booth 99. Our special guests the Vintage Vixens will be singing a handful of songs honoring our veterans and some feel good traditional holiday ones! This is a 3rd Thursday you will not want to miss!

Summerville American Legion Post 21 hopes everyone had a relaxing Veterans Day weekend! We had many events to attend! One that was dear to us and is a big part of the A.L. mission was educating our youth about Veterans and our flag. Cub Scout Pack 725 and Post 21 Legionaire's enjoyed time together learning about the Armistice Day, Flag Etiquette and answering many questions.
