Itās time to break out some pen and paper and get your garden goals set.
But itās not just pie in the sky dreams, although those are fun! We need actionable strategy. Take a look at what you typically reach for in the kitchen.
Do you use a lot of tomato sauce š„«? Well, you should probably grow some sauce tomatoes to can tomato sauce.
Use a lot of frozen fruit? Consider adding some fruit to your garden.
What about herbs? Using a lot of oregano, basil, thyme etc? Letās plant some herbs for drying!
Canned green beans or corn on the rotation? Add those to your plans.
Maybe you donāt know how many to plant to feed your householdā¦ well thatās the fun thing about gardening. You get to try things. See how your plants produce. Learn how you use them. Figure out what grows well for you. Experiment with new varieties!
Maybe youāre looking for a way to cut through the analysis paralysis. Look no further!
My popular Garden Kits will be launching soon. Keep your eye out for them.
Theyāre a hassle free way to grow a well rounded garden. They include vegetables AND flowers.
Think: canning tomatoes, slicer tomatoes, cherry tomatoes, bell pepper, jalapeƱos, squash, zucchini etc. For flowers imagine: zinnias, celosia, dahlias, sunflowers, marigolds etc!
These are my favorite things to offer and share with you! And I canāt wait to share more! Hereās to growing things that are nutritious and beautiful!
What are you most excited about growing next year?
I had to show yāall these bloopers/behind the scenes of me trying to get my husbands help with some impromptu content š¤£. Looking at them now Iām a hot mess LOL! I am still laughing at the one where Devon gets hit smack dab in the middle of his forehead with a dahlia.
Did you know that fall is one of the busiest times for our flower farm? We have to label all the dahlias before the frost hits to ensure we know which tubers are which. We are pulling out the old summer annuals, planting spring crops, prepping spring beds, fall workshops, bouquets š and filling orders for designer. Itās go time around here!!! The work we put it now will pay off when our next busiest season, Spring, comes around!
Yall remember the potato that turned into gorgeous flowers š? Earlier this year I took cuttings off my tubers to increase stock. What started like this has turned into over 100+ new plants to kick off my dahlia growing chapter. The next step will be labeling each variety and then when the time is right we will dig up and store the newly formed tubers. Which will 3-5x+ our current stock. But thereās a twistā¦ we have to figure out how to store them properly. We will have to keep them between 40-50 degrees. Iāll update you more as this progresses. You can expect a blog post next spring with an update of the final result! Letās cross our fingers for tons more dahlias !!!
That early morning glow is just magical! I love the way it illuminates everything so beautifully .
Loads of flowers heading all over the place. Custom arrangements, wrapped bouquets š
