Afterall, marriage could be a fairytale.

Love is very important in any relationship, but you know what is more important. Communication, respect, trust, support, and applying your own boundaries.

The choice to love is not a feeling; is an action, an action you must do each day to keep the fire going, is not forgetting in the first place of why you love the person you love.

What make you fall in love, and how you keep your love alive depends on both, you and your significant other.

Never be afraid to give love, never be afraid to receive it. It is magical when you can experience both!

Here a picture of me and my husband David, we keep our love alive by listening to each other, we still do the simple things we used to do when dating.

Is the marriage love and kisses all the time?

Of course not!
but is in the marriage where you are to learn and compromise for the good of the union.

There is not such a thing as a perfect marriage and seeing pictures of happy couples all the time isn't meant their lives are perfect; it means they probably find out the way to come into an agreement how to better channel their feelings to avoid hurting the person they most love.

I can almost certainly say that men are from Mars and women are from Venus.....not literally but let's face it, we are wired differently. and the sooner we learn the better our union will be. Give yourself a chance to learn the love language of your favorite person and allow him/her to know yours. I can promise you a much happier life together!

You got your marriage license, now what?

Your license is valid for 90 days from the date of issuance.

Things to remember.

Your license is a permit to get married, you are not married unless a marriage ceremony is performed.

The marriage ceremony must be performed within 90 days.

After the ceremony, your wedding officiant has 10 days to file.

The couple will not be notified of the registration of the license.

Couple must request and pay for a certified copy from the local register where license was issued.

License cannot be issued if you lost your original license. There is a process, but you will eventually get a certificate of Declaration of marriage. (Each county is different)

Essential wedding tips and tricks.

In all honesty, preparing for a wedding can be overwhelming but with a good team you can tackle the basics with ease.

Maybe is the numbers in me (I work with taxes)

1.- Keep a paper trail, your contracts, etc... everything in writing is best.

2.- Timing is everything! Having a schedule of your event will maximize your wedding memories and minimize the unnecessary stress.

3.- Prepare for the unexpected.
Does your wedding fall on a holiday? A city event? Be sure you know all of this to prepare your guests.

4.- Oh, the guests list:
Sit together with your fiancé (parents if they are involved)plan where guests are sitting, etc...is best if they know each other instead of total extrangers sitting together

5.- RSVP
Track who respond, check again nothing has change before the day you need to give your headcount to your food vendor.

6.- kids or no kids?
Make an uniform policy regarding kids attending your wedding.

7.- Delegate
A lot of times we are so afraid to delegate but believe me, your wedding party will be happy to assist!

8.- The food, appetizers
If wedding is going to be a long one, appetizers are a good idea, also offer a no meat option for the health conscious folks.

9.-The bar
What type of drinks you are serving? How many servers you need etc...

10.- Don't forget to eat! Seriously! Eat, don't rush and enjoy!

There are a lot more tips that is for sure, don't be afraid to ask, plan, plan.

How to obtain a marriage license?

#1 both parties must be at 18 years of age (family code 301)

#2 both parties must be present to get the license

#3 both parties must have a valid, government current I.D.

Wedding gifts
Who would tough that back on the day, some gifts never got to be open, why? I have no clue! I myself have a very fine Chelsea glass by Mikasa gifted on my wedding day that I always said to myself "on a special occasion."

I finally got the courage to say, today is that special day and put it to use.
My advice to you, the newlyweds Get those gifts out, put them on the table or in the bathroom, and make them a part of your existence. Life is very, very short...and I mean very short, enjoy!
