It the last day, to see this view out of our front window 😞. We hope you've enjoyed our little display amd photo stops, as much as we enjoyed putting it up for you! If you enjoy it, and want to keep it going and growing, Please remember:

We take donations of New, or working used, LED display pieces and characters, any blow molds, LED lights, and outdoor extention cords! Every bit definetly helps, as we put this up as a family of 4 (2 of which under age 13) on a single income. The pieces cost a lot, and the electric bill does rise (which is why we are ALL LED only..but we love seeing the hundreds of folks and families out there taking pictures, the photos sent to us, and the kids reactions!

Thank you for coming by and supporting our efforts to bring a little light into the community!

Thank you to the couple that stopped by and spoke to us, and the gentleman whom left some lights on our porch! It is greatly appreciated!

We hope that you had a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to come!!

12/31/2023

The lights are still on Tonight.. but tomorrow night, New Year's Eve, will be the last!

Come on by if you haven't yet, tonight or tomorrow night, one last time

Remember, we do this on our own dime, but we do take donations of LED Lights, LED figurines, Blow Molds, outdoor extention cords, or the like.. to keep growing, for our awesome community! Thank you to those whom have already spoken to us, and have dropped lights off on our front porch. We, amd those who enjoy the display, appriciate it, greatly!

We hope you all had a Merry Christmas and have a WONDERFUL New Year to come!

12/26/2023

Too wet for the lights tonight:(

The GFCI keeps tripping due to all of the rain.

We are so sorry.

We hope you all had a Very Merry Christmas!

August begins TOMORROW! How fast this year has flown! We hope everyone has had a great year thus far!

For us August means, it's time to start preparing the house for CHRISTMAS! if you have any old Christmas displays that you are getting rid of or upgrading them. Please feel free to bring them by between now and the end of October, and we can try to work them into the display!

Have a great, rest of your summer, and we will see you all soon! 😀 ❤️

Happy New Year! The hunt is on for new additions to our little display for the community.
As you take down your Christmas displays, please remember that we take donations of used, unwanted, or new led lights, led wire frames, led figurines, and ant blow molds (no inflatables/blow ups) in order to grow the display for 2023! We have hopes of a walk through or something more interactive one day, but we can't do it without you! If you enjoyed the display and photo spots and would like to be a part of the display, message us with any donated items or just drop them off in our driveway!
A huge thank you to those who have become a part of the display already by donating their unwanted items to help us grow for others enjoyment.

Have a great 2023 and we will see you starting Thanksgiving Night, 2023!

That is an unfortunate early wrap to our season. We have to take the majority of the display down tonight, after work, in order to save it from being destroyed by the incoming winds...again! The rest is up but the photo areas and some of our staple items are down.

The photo area is down, and our roof decorations are down. The snowflake arch with the screen is also removed...a few of our cute little figurines are also down, but the rest is still up for anyone who happens to drive by, as we feel the rest will hold up to 50mph winds.

We will try the photo op areas again next season...but PLEASE stick to the marked areas rather than run all over the yard. There are a lot of cords to trip on, which is why we have marked safe areas to take your photos.

Thank you to everyone whom stopped by, shared your photos with us, and told your friends. And thank you to those who have donated or plan to donate any new or used LED outdoor christmas lights and decorations and blow molds for the community to see and fir us to grow!

We hope to see you and some new faces next year!

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!

We want to THANK everyone who stopped by, shared, and took photos in our display! We would also like to thank anyone who has donated any used or new items, or who may be wanting to donate any to be incorporated into the display next year!

Unfortunately we are canceling Santa's Visit this coming Friday, and will begin disassembly of the majority of our display this Wednesday or Thursday, so we can get ahead of the winds from the incoming storm.

Mother Nature isn't cooperative with us this year..the winds have taken us down twice, the rains, and this Friday..the incoming weather and winds canceled our visit from Santa.

Please PLEASE come by Tonight or Tomorrow to ensure you get your photos in the display, since we are forced to shut down before Christmas this year 😞. Please remember to ONLY enter the yard in the two marked areas and stop going elsewhere in the yard, for your safety. 20,000 lights means a lot of cords to trip on that you may not see until youre laying nextbto them. If you need someone to snap your families photo Tuesday the 20th, ring our doorbell before 9pm, and we'd be happy to, if we're home!

If you are wanting to donate any Christmas items to be incorporated next year, shoot us a message or leave um I'm the driveway. We will accept those year round.

Thank you again to everyone who came by and shared our display. We hope to see you next year and hope our display will be even better for you and yours.

Merry Christmas!

With ANY luck, we may be able to reassemble to see the lights on the snow..but that will depend on how bad the winds get.

12/15/2022

The Puddles are GONE so the lights are ON!

We are back up and running tonight.

If you need someone to take your families picture together on our bench or under the arches tonight, ring our doorbell BEFORE 9pm!

12/14/2022

Wednesday December 14: Sorry everyone! The lights aren't coming on tonight. Its TOO Wet out do its popping the GFCI. We will get them on once it dries up!

12/02/2022

Due to the high winds tonight our display will be off.

11/30/2022

Unfortunately due to the wind. Our display will be off tonight. We will be back up and going tomorrow night. Thank you all for your support.

I was awoken at 4 this morning to heavy wind noise and loud bangs...it was the wind destroying parts of the Christmas display (and possibly our roof)..

With that, a heads up that the lights MAY be off tonight, unless Brit can take the time to salvage it while I'm away at work, from dark to dark.

I apologize if we can't get them on. There just isn't enough of me to go around sometimes. With 12 to overnight 48 hour work shifts, I can't always be there, so I'm reliant in Brit to remedy it as I'm gone so much. Thank you for understanding.

We will update the page if we can get the lights back up and on for tonight.

People always ask: "why so many lights?" "Why put in all of that work to get nothing?" "Why raise your electric bill even more for others?"

First of all. Thank you to my Fiance and two young children, for supporting my crazy Christmas Light addiction, and then becoming as in love with it as I am. With as much as I work, I could never, EVER, do this without you!

For me, this started with my Aunt, back in Iowa, when I was a very little boy. I absolutely adored the lights that she put on her house and I wanted to do the same someday. Our display, to this day, is in homage to my Aunt Joyce. I miss you.

Later, I joined the Military, and got an even greater appreciation for not taking the little things for granted, like the little smile a decorated house can bring to others, and started to decorate myself.

Fast forward to today, I have a young family of my own and we ALL love to bring joy to others, however we can.
I see the joy this season can bring, but I have also have personally experienced the hard, hard times that this season can ALSO bring. But every time we see someone taking photos in the yard, or a little kid running around to see the different figurines, or we have an someone tell us about how much they loved to drive around with their families in the past to see the homes lit up...I get an overwhelming feeling of joy, like I'm a kid again myself.

These reasons, and so many more, are why our family, dedicates so much time and so many resources to putting this display up up every year for those who appreciate the beauty of the lights and the feeling of being festive, loving, and young again, to come and enjoy as they make their rounds to see the lights in town.

Because I have a young family, and work full time, it's hard to grow the display as quickly or as big as I would like. This is why we DO take donations of any New or Uses LED Christmas Lights, LED figurines, LED Wire Frames, or any plastic blow molds..to add to our display each year in hopes of continuing to grow, until we outgrow our yard!

With your help, hopefully we can grow this into a walk through display..if we grow too much, we can incorporate the back yard as well. We also dream of making it into the local Light parades. All I Know is that We love doing this, and love to see the kids faces, the photos, and the smiles. We will continue to do all that we can to keep this going and growing.

Please stop on by, snap a couple of pictures under the ornament arche, or on the porch.
6pm-10pm Sunday to Thursday
6pm-11pm Friday and Saturday

Rain and wind may shut Down our display, so please stop by on a dry, snowy, and calm day.

Thank you to those who have stopped by, donated LED Christmas items, and reached out to us. Have a happy holiday season, and we will see you soon!

11/27/2022

We see that a lot of folks have already taken advantage of one of our photo spots in the yard! This makes us so happy!!

A tip, sometimes the LED Lights are a bit bright for the camera, depending on your phone. If they're coming out a little dark, try using night mode, or use the flash. It may help a little bit.

Please spread the word, we love seeing others taking enjoyment in our lights and the season! Please remember to tag us or post them on our page, and tell your friends to do the same!

Thank you all again for stopping by and snapping some pictures!

7 years of Hulbert Holiday Lights! We have grown a little in 7 years! From about 300 lights to 20,000 lights!
We hope to continue to grow, with your help! New or used LED lights, figurines, wire frames, and any blow mold donations are always accepted!

Looking forward to another Holiday season with our traditional static light display! Please swing on by and take a photo at one of the two little photo stops..the ornament arch and the porch!

It's the "Most Wonderful Time of the Year"!

This year, we are up to 20,000 lights this year! It took us almost 2 months to get it all up, with our jobs interfering with our decorating, haha, and parenting, of course.

Thanksgiving Night, the lights came on for the Christmas Season! If you're out and about enjoying lights, please swing by the Hulbert Holiday Lights on North Soules St, in Terre Haute, and feel free to like our page on Facebook Hulbert Happy Holidays . We are US Navy Veteran, family, home.

This is a static display, of sorts, meaning it's "old school" or "traditional"..what we enjoyed riding around a seeing as kids, ourselves. There is some blinking and flashing, but no dancing to music or any of that newer stuff that others have mastered these days.

We have a little photo stop, marked by trees that lead you into it, and a sign. You may also Park in Candy Cane Lane (the driveway) and walk up the lighted sidewalk to our porch and take a photo on the welcome bench with the wreath and street lamp, if you so choose.
We ask that these be the only two places you go, in the yard, and the only two paths that you take to get to them...for your own safety (cord trip hazards) and to keep us from having to repair anything.

Please tag/add your pictures to our Facebook so we can see those enjoying the fruits of our labor! We do this for the families and kids of the community!

We plan to keep the Lights on: Sunday-Thursday: From dark, 6pm - 10pm
Friday-Saturday: 6pm - 11pm

Rain will keep the lights off. (Dang codes, safety, and GFCI's, haha.

Please stop on by. We do this alone, with no sponsors or cash donations. We DO accept donations of any LED lights, figurines, blow molds, wire frames, etc..that we can incorporate into our display the following year. We'd be happy to keep your display alive if you no longer wish to put them up, or can no longer put them up, ir if you upgraded. Instead of throwing them out, know that we will keep them going, where you can come and see then every year!

Thanks to all of those that stop by and for those who may donate items, to add a piece of your family, to our families display for the community.

We hope to continue to grow, year after year, and with your help we can do that!

Thus it begins! It may only be October to most....but in order for us to get well over 15,000 lights up this year...it's the beginning of the Christmas Decorating Season for us!

Don't forget, we are always accepting donations of your used Christmas lights and display pieces...LED preferred but all accepted and used in some way.

Renewing older decorations helps to offset the cost of adding to the display and the higher electric bill during the Christmas Season.

Can't wait to see y'all come by and start taking pictures in our little photo op stop starting Thanksgiving NIGHT (if all goes well)!

Don't forget to tag us or add your photos to this page!!

Excited for year 3 of Decorating this home for you all to enjoy on your Christmas Lighr cruises!

No lights dancing to music here, just a TON of lights and time put in to put on a traditional static display, like we used to see driving around with our parents as kids.

Well it was a GREAT season! Thank you to ALL who came by! With Christmas over, Please remember that we take old, used, broken, or new donations of ANY kind of lights..led or incandescent, figurines, blow molds, wire frames, or any decorations to help grow our display. We will fix them, or revamp them, and incorporate them into next year's display! We are also interested in Artificial Christmas trees of all sizes that still stand but you may be getting rid of. You can bring them by, drop them in the driveway, or message us and we can pick them up.
We will also buy large displays if they are in good shape and LED, send us photos or details.
Also, if you see anyone, or a town, or a business selling a large display that they put up, please let us know!
Hopefully, with your help we can continue to grow the display for the community!

Merry Christmas from us to you!! We hope you have a great holiday season. Christmas Night will most likely be the final night for our lights this season. Thanks to all who have come by since thanks6and came and got some free Hot Chocolate last night!

Please remember, after the holiday, we take donations of Christmas lights and outdoor decor that you no longer want, need, or is broken, even light strands that no longer work. Bring them in up or leave them in the driveway. We will fix them up and a part of your family will be in our families display to live on!

Merry Christmas!!

12/23/2021

Good Afternoon! We finally got all of the lights up and running again tonight!!
We wanted to apologize to anyone whom may have come by while they were down, by gifting you a glass of hot chocolate and taking your families photos for you, with your camera, in the little arch area we have set up. This is just a small way to apologize to any of ya'll whom may have been disappointed when you came by throughout the too half of this week.

Come on by TONIGHT, after about 6:30ish, while supplies last, to accept our apology 😀

Thank you, and Have a Merry Christmas!!

12/22/2021

Sorry everyone! We are having some major issues with our lights... we hope to have them back on Thursday through Christmas! :(

12/17/2021

Just a quick reminder, we do accept donations of all exterior Christmas Decorations that you no longer want. Working or not working! It recycles, as we can repair them and incorporate them into our display, or if they work already, it keeps them from going to the landfill. Figurines, blow molds, light strands, anything outdoors. You can either bring them by and put them in the driveway, or knock on the front door! With your help we can make the display bigger next season!

If you have some Christmas Decor for sale, please let us know as well, especially if it is LED, so we can se if we can use it ir converting to LED.

Thank you so much!!

Also, with the incoming rain today, hopefully we will be able to have the show run tonight, if not, look for it again Saturday-Christmas!

Merry Christmas! 🎄 🎅 🤶

12/11/2021

The lights are back on tonight!! We tore down the majority of the display yesterday for the storms, and put it all back up today after the winds died down. So the lights are BACK ON!

If you like classic type static displays with a photo stop, swing on by..take a photo..and tag our page!

Hopefully you get a little of the joy our family does out of the lights! Hope to see you soon!

Happy Holidays!

12/06/2021

Sorry folks. We can't keep the lights on..the yard is too wet.. the only way they stay on is if we shut off the two "mega tree's" so the display will have to remain off for the evening :(

12/05/2021

Thanks to those of you who have come by, taken advantage of our little photo stop, and tagging your pictures to our page. Hopefully the rain stops tonight at it dries up a little before dark. If it is too wet, we won't be able to turn it on unfortunately. So let's hope it dries up!
