Gollum Jade, also known as Shrek ears, are really slow growers. The pics on the left were taken approximately two years ago and the pics on the right are from today! May not seem like much, but I’m happy with their growth.

A Thanksgiving cactus bloom! Holiday cactuses are considered succulents and not true cactuses. Their blooms vary in colors, but each holiday cactus has its own distinctly shaped flower, making it easy to identify. If your holiday cactus is in bloom, they require slightly more frequent waterings🪴💜

Good morning! Now that it’s been below freezing, the rest of my indoor plants are back indoors. It’s a jungle in here! Has anyone started planning their spring garden yet? What will you plant or seed? I’m drawing a blank, but inspiration will come! 🪴💜

Did anyone else bring in their porch plants so that they wouldn’t blow away with last nights wind? I hope everyone (and your plants) are safe! Thurmonts strongest gust was recorded at just over 40mph. How do you prepare for a storm?

Here’s a little sneak peek at how I propagate the succulents which I grow. First, I gently remove a few lower leaf segments of a mature plant, then place them in an area where they’ll receive bright indirect light. After a few weeks, baby succulents and roots form. It’s at this point that I place them on top of soil, gently burying their roots. No need to water yet, as the tiny plants are still receiving the nutrients they need from the leaf. Once the leaf dries up, I start to water. These leaf segments are from a ghost plant that I grew in this manner (pictured lower right). Once mature, I use the plants in succulents arrangements. This process takes approximately 6-12 months! Patience is key. If anyone is interested in propagation, I have a few leaf segments to spare💜

These beauties are going home today! The arrangement on the left is made with sempervivum and sedum and is cold hardy to -30°. The arrangement on the right, I made using succulents. It would do best indoors under grow lights or directly in front of a window. Lmk if I can help create something beautiful for you!🪴💜

Good morning! It’s time for another repot! This time, I’ll be tending to my Sedum adolphi Firestorm. This plant is a low maintenance, slow-growing succulent. It prefers bright light or full sun during the warmer months, which produce red margins on the leaf segments. During the summer it produces the cutest little white star-shaped flowers.

I’m going to be dividing this Atlantis Takesimense today! It’s a Sedum and one of my favorites, due to its variegation and soft pink hues🌸 In the summer, it produces bright yellow star-shaped flowers. It prefers full sun and tolerates heat, humidity, drought and is a cold-hardy evergreen perennial☀️🪴❄️

Twist red Danziger is a multi-color Portulaca. It’s an annual succulent in our growing zone, but it’s known to self-seed and “come back” in the spring. These look great in hanging baskets, which is where this plant will go once it grows in size. For now, it sits under grow lights, along with my other succulents.

Hey guys! This is a before(left) and after(right) of a repot service I provided of a string of hearts plant. The strings were tangled, and as you can see, hardly any hearts on top. I gently pulled the plant out of its pot and examined the roots (tubers). They looked great so I went on to add fresh soil to a new pot. I like using terracotta because it’s porous, allowing more airflow to the roots. I untangled each strand and carefully circled a few on top of the soil to give the plant a bushier appearance. If you have a strings of things that could use a repot, feel free to reach out! I’d be happy to help🪴✨

Ready to pot up this beautiful Dianthus from its nursery pot, into terracotta. This plant is a perennial and has the potential to, under the right conditions, bloom year round. While this plant thrives in full sun (6+ hours a day) it will tolerate partial shade.

I haven’t paid much mind to this strawberry plant in months, besides the occasional watering, so imagine my surprise when I found this blossom! There are a few others in there so I’ll be bringing her in before the first frost. I hope they’ll be as tasty as the ones from this past spring/summer🍓✨☀️

Hey guys! Here’s an arrangement I just completed. These plants do best outdoors, year round. The pot consists of hens and chicks, sedum and stonecrop🪴✨ Did you know hens and chicks can withstand temps as low as -30°F? Amazing!
