As part of this speaking tour he'll be speaking at various churches to raise support for Freedom Gates boys ranch and to share inspiring stories of the lives being transformed at Freedom Gate Boys Ranch.

It was just a normal day at the Ranch. I was sitting in the living room while the boys were playing around the house constantly going in and out. It had come to my attention that 2 of the boys had broken one of the rules at the ranch. They both came and talked to me, but even before I knew about the broken rule, they had made thing right and said they would not do it again. I told them I believed them and was proud of them for making things right without being reminded. I believed that this concluded the matter and later on the boys went to bed. I went to their rooms to say goodnight and found one of the boys from earlier sobbing in his bed. I was truly shocked since I had never really seen him get emotional about much of anything. I asked him if he was ok and what was wrong. He looked up at me with tears and said, " I was just scared because I didn't know what you were going to do". My heart broke, all that was going through my mind was, "What has happened to you that a simple light correction could put you in such fear".
I sat beside him and pulled him under my arm. "It's ok", I said, "You are safe, and nothing is going to hurt you".
After a few moments I told him how proud of him I was and that he had no reason to be afraid, but if he still felt afraid to come knock at my door. He gave me a hug and said thank you.
Something the team and I just talked about yesterday in training was to continue to look past the behavior to the child, past the hurtful actions to the hurting person, and to look beyond the fault and see the need.
I cannot thank you all enough for your support in helping us bring not just safety, but the feeling of being safe, secure, heard, and loved to our boys. Your gifts, prayers, and your encouragement is producing good fruit in the lives of our boys and their families.
