Your Wedding, Your Way—No Apologies!
Brides, let’s talk about something that happens way too often: unwanted opinions. The moment you start sharing details about your wedding, suddenly everyone—family, friends, coworkers—feels the need to chime in with their two cents. Whether it’s about your guest list, dress, or venue, someone will always have an opinion. But here’s the truth: the only opinions that matter are yours and your fiancé’s.
If you’re the type who can let those comments go in one ear and out the other, great! But if you know it’ll stress you out, don’t be afraid to keep certain details to yourself until the big day. The less outside noise, the better!
And let’s address another big one—when parents (or anyone else) offer to help pay for the wedding. Yes, it’s generous, and yes, it’s appreciated, but it does NOT mean they get a say in your vision. You do not have to invite extra guests, change your color scheme, or adjust your dream just to make the paying party happy. Help is help—it shouldn’t come with strings attached.
Your wedding should be exactly what you’ve dreamed of—straight from your Pinterest board and the journal where you’ve been planning since childhood. If little-you would be over the moon about it, then big-you should make it happen!
Moral of the story: Stay true to yourself. Don’t let pressure steal the joy of your engagement season. This is your day—own it! ✨
