My first monochrome tie dye.
Working with black dye is one thing. Intentionally leaving white space while dying with black is an entirely different challenge! Little too much thick water saturation. Thickened water is used to fill white space so it takes up space and deters the colored dyes from seeping in and taking over. You mix sodium alginate with the water to make it. Too much water can skew your design just like too much dye can. But I’m happy with the results & now I know what I need to do next time.

How’s this for an adult kickball team shirt?
Came up with this design and color pallet on the fly based on the requested specs.
Managed to get 12 shirts dyed and ready to go in under 48hrs for some special friends! These can now head to the printer for their team logo to be added.
I think they look exactly like summer break used to feel like as kids! Sunny days, plastic toys, popsicles, and definitely kick ball!

Today was finally the day Rena Stickel finally got her custom shirt! There’s a ridiculous story behind it but I’ll save that for another day!
I had one image in mind when I saw that Rena had won. An impression of a beach scene! ⁉️did I get it⁉️

‼️INTRODUCING EVIL PIG‼️

Edit: fixed that first pictures with the most updated touch ups.

Sometimes you can work on a project so carefully and it still goes wrong.
Good thing is I’m stubborn and refuse to give up! It was supposed to be a perfect circle but in the 2nd picture you can see it ended up bleeding outside the sinew, making “ears” and it bowed on the sides. After some relentless tweaking I think I rescued it from being a complete failure and now I can move on with my life 🤦🏼‍♀️🤣

This design takes some patience and careful tying. We used waxed sinew to tye in the heart shapes.
This group was super patient in every way that mattered. From having to wait to be shown how to perform the folding and tying to the actual work. None of them had ever done this type of tie dying design. That didn’t stop them from creating some gorgeous bespoke art fashions! ✌🏻🖤😎

2nd batch of tie dyes from Friday nights Sip & Dye! Feel free to tag!
These dyers opted for the tradition swirl fold and they knocked it out of the park!

All of the groups had the same colors to choose from. Fire RED. Deep ORANGE. Custom YELLOW, made of golden & lemon yellows. Bright GREEN. Bahama BLUE. Deep PURPLE. Custom Hot PINK/FUSHIA. Raven BLACK.
The first picture are the examples they were given and they did the rest! I love how each of them dyed them so completely different from each other! Made the traditional swirl totally their own! ✌🏻❤️😎

Friday nights Sip & Dye produced some serious fashion art! If you know/are the maker of any of the shirts, feel free to tag if you want
This is the first round of pictures.
They chose from 3 different design options based on samples we brought.
This groups batch was a fold that could be dyed in many ways but were all folded the same. The first picture is the example they were given. The rest are all theirs and full of so much creativity. I’m proud of how well everyone did! I also gave them empty bottles so they could mix up different shades and let me just say, they understood the assignment.

Last nights Sip & Dye was a success! 19 gals came& made a wearable masterpiece! They did a fantastic job! It was my honor to show them this colorful messy art form! Pics to follow BUT first I’ll post the winner of our contest at 11:11‼️

All 21 bags are ready for the April sportsman club dye party! The shirts just need added.
Each little kit has what each person will need to dye their shirt, batch it over night then wash it out the next day.
