Something I’ve been wanting to do for a while is become more involved with the community and Chamber of Commerce. I knew this was one of the first things I wanted to improve as soon as the school year started and I would be kid free for the first time in 8 years!

This morning I attended the Palm Beach North Chamber of Commerce Business Before Hours, where I met many like minded business owners, became inspired by individuals continuing to persevere regardless of speed bumps, and heard from superintendent Mike Burke on how the school system is working to continue to improve Palm Beach County’s school district benchmarks for students and staff.

I am proud to be a small business AND woman owned business in Palm Beach County and really look forward to growing with the Chamber, volunteering and educating young professionals on taking the leap of confidence, and the connections more community involvement will bring.

It was our pleasure to create these beautiful pieces for our client!! She found us on Facebook after being referred to us in a local mom’s group, and sent us an inquiry. After one phone call and some text messages with photos later (to make sure we’re on the same page)….VOILA! She was so sweet and couldn’t thank us enough! Don’t take it from me though, here is her Google review she left us 😍🥰:

Andrea is super easy to work with in planning design and ideas wanted for an event! I found a few photos on Pinterest for my daughters 1st birthday and sent them to Andrea. She took the ideas and transformed them into real life beautiful balloon creations!! We had such a beautiful first birthday party with these creations! They were great conversation pieces, photo prop, birthday decor and just amazing to take an ordinary party to the next level! Setup was quick for the amount of work these creations take!! As an extra, I enjoyed practicing my flower balloons. As I’ve mentioned, I always love learning new techniques and every chance I get, I take it!!! 💕

With patience, time, and trial and error, anything is possible. I spent about two hours just mix and matching balloons, double stuffing, and researching online to find the perfect color combo to match my client’s expectations. Can’t wait to see the whole setup come to fruition tomorrow! 😍

Most of you know of me just as the bad ass (🤣) domesticated workaholic, but behind the scenes I’m a mother of three handsome little men! These boys are my world and tonight we celebrated the birthday of my oldest by seeing a movie he’s been looking forward to on its opening night! This is the first time we’ve been to the movies as a family without someone whining and crying to leave (eh-hem my youngest) and it was so amazing! Looking forward to many more enjoyable - non tantrum family moments 🙃. Until then, happy birthday to my baby who made me a mother! 🎂💙

Ok, this may seem silly to all the non-DIY nerds out there, but to this DIY nerd, I’m so excited to have finally made these!! This is something I’ve wanted to try for a while and am so excited to have accomplished it for not one, but two birthdays coming up this weekend.

I created and customized each for the particular birthday boy. Yay for new accomplishments and for more items I can offer to my clients!! 😍

Today made my heart so happy to decorate and celebrate this sweet little girl making her first footsteps into her home as a tradition in her culture. From being there to celebrate her existence, and now this, just puts the biggest smile on my face. 🥹

Best part?! This decor was all a surprise that dad planned! 🥰🥰🥰💜

On my way to driving to a client consultation, I had a moment of reminiscing of how far I’ve come in less than a year.

When I first started my business, I knew I wanted to become an event planner, but I had no idea where to start. Balloons were hot (and still are haha) so that’s where I began because I knew I had to start somewhere to open the doors to other avenues. You don’t just jump in and expect clients to be knocking on your door. You need to prove yourself, show your skills, and be consistent.

I spent hours upon hours of watching balloon videos and practicing. This was going to be my chance!

My very first event was a Mother’s Day setup at my son’s VPK. I was so fricken scared! I volunteered my services with a lump in my throat. You don’t get anywhere by not stepping out of your comfort zone! From there I booked several other balloon clients, always trying to do more than I did the prior time, which then led to so much more than I could have ever expected.

Now here I am nine months later having planned baby showers, bridal showers, birthday parties, corporate parties, day of wedding coordinator, and created some things I even surprised myself with.

Success most definitely doesn’t happen overnight. My manifestations have came to fruition, with so much more to come.

I am so thankful for everyone who consistently shares my name and trusts my process! I can’t say thank you enough!! Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU!! 🥹❤️

Here’s a little scoop from inside the mind of an event planner! 🧠🥳

Obviously budget is important, but most of my clients have no idea what their budget is prior to the event. While I continuously make them privy to their costs, in order for me to get that far, I need three pieces of information and I can essentially run with planning the whole event —-

(1) Photos of reference to get the client’s perceived vision (if available)
(2) Color palette
(3) Vibe of the party to correlate the photo references/color scheme with the ultimate feel the client wants

My dear friend just asked me to help plan her son’s birthday party and it just clicked that these questions I ask time and time again and it really just opens my creative mind to make the event what it needs to be.

Let’s talk about being a new business owner for a moment!

1️⃣ More free time — yes there’s no 9-5 , but instead a 24/7. A new business owner really needs to love what they do to succeed because they aren’t just doing the actual task of what they love, they’re doing the nitty gritty tasks of social media management, accounting, website management, inventory counting, etc. And it doesn’t stop.

2️⃣ More money — that’s the long term goal, but the short term goal is just to survive. Survive by gaining the confidence of your clients to make them return clients, and survive by reinvesting those profits into your business to build your inventory and capabilities to serve your clients best. Your paycheck is essentially the satisfaction of doing what you love that first year or two.

3️⃣ Work/Life Balance - what is this again? Oh yeah. This one you have to be very cognizant about because your mind is totally consumed on making a successful and prosperous business. This has been the hardest for me to accept and work on. Yes it’s possible, but it does not come easy, and when you start a business you have to make lots of sacrifices to start, and a work/life balance is one of them. Not to mention I recorded this video while shopping on a date night and am editing as we’re driving home with the kids. Multitasking is key here lol.

4️⃣ It’s easy — haha . Owning a new business is anything but easy. You’re dealing with competitors pi**ed you joined their market, family members do***ng your work, friends not taking you seriously, immediate family demanding your attention. You have all the forces against you and it’s up to YOU and you alone to pull through.

and I still love everything about what I’ve done, where I’ve been, and where I’m going ❤️.
