“It took me awhile to write this review because putting into words what a difference Salems service made for my wedding and my husband & Is experience will never fully express the impact.
From the very beginning of meeting Salem & choosing her as our wedding decorator, she brought us comfort and clear communication. She would continuously be hopping in the phone with me to discuss vision, texting me about every single detail, sending me friendly reminders about what needs to be done, and documenting every thing so it was out of my mind and on paper. When we met in person at the venue to have a mock run, I could literally feel the worry and stress melt off of me. She was so organized with a check off sheet, a decor list, a contact sheet, and so much more. She would coordinate with the venue on our behalf of what was needed and where & when. Outside of all the logistics, which Salem made seem so easy and seamless even though we all know they aren’t, Salem as a person is truly what made this experience above and beyond. We all know wedding planning is stressful, and having someone in your corner like Salem to give you comfort, reliability, assurance, and just understand your vision is so rare and special. Our wedding was fully DIY and before meeting Salem I was so nervous and stressed about what the day was going to look like for me and my family. But Salem took care of every single detail. I literally did not even show up to the venue ahead of time to check decor because I fully trusted Salem and it was perfect. I couldn’t hold back tears then and can barely hold them back now. All I can say is, hire Salem. Just do it! It will be the best decision you made for your wedding.”

Let me tell you something dear hearts….
My heart could not be more full than how it feels when I read the notes, cards, open the gifts, receive gratuity funds, and read the reviews from couples.
🤍
I generally cry whilst also becoming overtaken with intense joy. The sort of happiness of knowing others are happy and you played a role in that. That’s a lucky thing loves. To be able to chase your own happiness and upon capturing it you actually get the chance to make others, also happy.
I feel deeply lucky and honored to be trusted to make so many dreamy days be, well, dreamy.

We have enjoyed the past few weeks off from actual weddings, and we are still gathering our thankful breaths and getting things done that have been waiting for our attention. The back end of running a company is less pretty, but it’s these gifts, notes, reviews and remembering the deep hugs from couples at the end of their night that make all the push, all the rush, all the “all in” beyond worth it.

Hi loves! Salem here. I’ve cried about half a dozen times this week thinking about all the love stories of 2024 we’ve been a part of so far and the ones still to come. I’m so deeply lucky to do what I do and to be trusted with so many couples dreams and visions for their day. I appreciate more than I could express the trust you’ve all had in me, in our company. My wife and I couldn’t love love any more if we tried. We’ve got little thank you gifts and notes to send as soon as the season slows down to all of you lovebirds who’ve we’ve already seen say “I do” this year 🫶🏻🫶🏻 Every love story adds to our story. Hi loves!! The Pretty Maker here, but you can call me Salem 😊

I realized I don’t post much beyond my stories so thought I’d free flow a quick post to catch everyone up.

This is me and the love of every single one of my lifetimes. She makes being The Pretty Maker possible and is the reason all those candle holders look so shiny when I show up a wedding to do my thing. 🍾

If you wonder what I’ve been up to.. well the answer is simple, making things pretty. If you’re a client of mine.. the reason I’m not posting is obvious because you know my dedication and detailed style means I’m busy over here in pretty making land and love it.🫶🫶

For those who haven’t met me yet.. this company is my absolute passion. The couples I choose to work with quickly become some of my favorite people because when there’s a connection, it’s just easy. Effortless. Like falling in love..

When we meet and we all feel completely jazzed to have met then woot! Time to make pretty! 🎉

It’s that excitement and ease that I encourage every nearlywed couple to find when selecting their vendors.

It’s wedding season here in AZ so couples some advice… take a breath. Kiss each other. And trust that your day will be amazing!!

♥️ Hello loves! If you’re deep in the throws of planning your dreamy day, or just starting and already feeling overwhelmed, I’d like to share a few things I often tell my brides, and even some grooms.

♥️ when you feel overwhelmed, close your eyes and remember the exhilarating feeling you had when you got engaged. Restart planning from that place of joy.

♥️it’s okay to ask for help or pivot and hire help. Make a list of your biggest challenges and try to knock those out first even if they are the least “fun” parts of planning.

♥️choose your vendors with care. Every vendor from your venue to your get away car, should provide a sense of dedication for your day to be dreamy. If you don’t feel they are invested, if you don’t smile or feel less overwhelmed when hanging up with them then you may not resonate, and that’s okay. Every couple is different. Every vendor is different. Find the ones that fit the type of personality vibe you want playing a role in your day.

Hello! I’m The Pretty Maker. Creating and designing has been an integral part of my entire life. As a child, and into my early years I took art lessons in varies mediums from a wide variety of instructors. In the early 1990’s I started Enchanting by Design in Half Moon Bay, Ca. offering one of a kind and custom ordered handmade home and garden decor.

In the late 1990’s I launched The Girls Painting & Design Co., in San Francisco, Ca. I focused on interior painting and design (I was the only girl in “girls” at the time but plural sounded better). In 1999 I gathered some friends with different skills including plumbing, electrical, carpentry and together ran the expanded business: The Girls Restoration & Design Co. which operated until 2001 when I relocated. I moved the painting and design side of the business with me to Portland, Or.

Eventually migrated to design contracts only until moving to Arizona in 2007, when I left the full time entrepreneur world for a career in marketing. Still creative, but different. I maintained on and off again creative and design projects, focusing on custom orders and singular events like weddings, dinner parties, fundraisers, etc.

In 2014 motherhood put a slight hold on things until 2019 when I restarted all things design with a focus on celebrations.

In 2021 life presented me with a chance to chase my happiness.
The Pretty Maker was officially launched in 2021 marking a return to my creative and entrepreneurial roots.

For my couples, their devotion to each other, taking them to the next chapter in their love story is evident on their smiles and embraces.
🤍 Not pictured is my devotion to them. My enthusiasm for their dreamy day and love for what I do. My clients are ones I resonate with. Often a connection, a feeling of excitement and ease from our firsts texts and calls to wedding day. When it’s over both sides of the couple share some sentiment of gratitude and I’m always taken back by it, because it’s their wedding day, when there’s so much happening and they take the time to find me and thank me. I cry. Often they cry… I hear frequently “ I could not have done this without you”.
🤍That’s how I work, how I run my company. Devoted. I’m all in. Everyday. Intentionally taking less couples so my devotion from day one through to wedding day is unwavering.

Even months later I’m still so elated for my couples and their new chapter that I spend a day making custom newlywed gifts to send as a thank you’s for trusting me with their vision.

Wedding decorator and decor planners notice the decor details. Making the tiny 100+ decisions like ivory or cream to create aesthetic you want. They don’t “just bring” pearls. ( or insert decor detail ) we bring the ones that help pull together your cohesive vibe.

Here’s the story behind my company name!

When I officially left the corporate world to chase my happiness and move my long time side work into an official company, the first order of business was choosing my company name. I asked around, friends, family, even my then 6 year old daughter there were dozens of amazing choices. After about a week I could not punt the decision any longer, I asked my wife what she thought it should be and she said, "I don't know, you're so talented and do so much, you just make things pretty". And that was it! The thing that summarized my entire life's work...I make things pretty. Business licensed filed the next day: The Pretty Maker, Salem Reinhardt

⭐️Choosing a venue can be fairly stressful. Finding the place you share your first kiss, first meal, first dance as newlyweds should come with excitement and joy. If you feel that, you’ve made the right choice.

If you feel overly worried and stressed about how to pay for it, decorate it, fit your guest count it probably isn’t the right choice.

⭐️Practical tips!
1. If the place you love doesn’t accommodate your guest count. Have a hard look at your guest list!

2. Ask to use the bathroom. I’m serious. You and your guests will be using it all night long! Is it big enough? Does it smell? Is it located in a weird spot that will land in all your pretty pictures?

3. You will need to make 100+ decisions all centered around the mood you want for both you & your guests to experience. Remember the venue space only plays a small role in the overall vibe. The mood and feel are 80% brought in. Unless you have an ex*****on and design plan, call a wedding decor stylist early. It will save you stress & time. ( even if it’s not me )

3. Read the venues online reviews and even ask in a social media group if other couples have any feedback. So helpful!

4. Transportation. Consider this early. What will yours be? Is it practical? Your guests? Will Lyfts be hard to get? Do you need to hire a company? Does the venue allow cars to stay overnight?

5. Weather plan. If choosing an indoor/outdoor venue don’t forget to ask what the indoor capacity is, in the event you need to move both ceremony and reception inside.
