It feels like it's time to share this life update... after 3 wonderful, painstaking, educational, exciting, wild years, I have decided to take a break from The Deserted Forest.
My goodness I have loved building this business. Full of trials and amazing highs, it has been such a blast and an honor to share my passion with the people and communities I was able to reach. But damn building a business is not easy, and somewhere along the way I feel I've lost a little sight of my original purpose. So it's time to press the pause button while I shift my energy and focus onto some other projects that have blessed my life, and recenter on my purpose.
I recently began working for Pocono Organics, giving me the opportunity to expand my knowledge of organic and regenerative farming; while also enrolled full time to earn my bachelor's in holistic nutrition. Piece by piece we are assembling the puzzle of this life!
It's about experiences, education, and growing every step of the way. While there is definitely a part of me that is aching with the thought of setting down my tea company, I am excited to open the door for new blessings and opportunities. Thank you to everyone who has supported me along the way, you're the reasons I was able to make this dream come true, & I can't wait to share my dreams again when the time is right 💕

Blessed Ostara & Happy Equinox everyone 💖 Thank you to all who were able to attend our tea ceremony on Sunday! I wanted to leave a few key take aways from our gathering for anyone who might be interested...
☀️🌓Ostara is the celebration of the balance of light & dark, the turning of the wheel towards the return of the Sun & warmer days 🌷
We use this day to celebrate the release of what we are leaving behind us, what can be left with the cold winter months, the thing that no longer serves us...
& we begin to welcome in all that nourishes us. What encourages us to grow into who we are trying to become? 🌱
Qualities in your food & herbs that can be supportive through this transition are bitters, nutritives, detoxifying, uplifting & grounding medicines.
Some examples are:
Dandelion (*leaf* // root)
Nettles 🌿
Passionflower
Yarrow 💮
Ashwaganda
Green tea 🍵

Psst… do you hear what your body is trying to tell you? Don’t wait until your body shouts before you tap into its intuitive wisdom. Daily prevention of dis-ease is a form of protection against falling ill. In Traditional Chinese Medicine, preventative treatment is at the root of the centuries old philosophy for avoiding sickness and dis-ease. In the most ancient life science, Ayurveda, maintaining vitality and long life is also achieved through prevention practices.
This week, we’ve been exploring radical self-care ✨🌹💕 (see our blog, and newsletter for more), and one of the easiest ways to dedicate yourself to a more holistic approach to wellness is to sit in silence 🙏, directing your attention to your breath 🌬️, and feeling where there is discomfort in your body. Different traditional medicine systems may identify an emotional, psychological, spiritual, or physical cause (or a combination of these) for any dis-ease you may be experiencing. You don’t need to be a certified physician or medical practitioner to play an active role in your own healing. Listen, and you may surprise yourself just how much you can hear when you block out the daily noise! Take a few slow, deep breaths, and simply sit in silence as a gateway to coming home to your own body.

Unfortunately from a young age, there were men around me who felt the need to comment on my movement, my childhood self expressions. So for years my movement went one of two directions: 1) I moved in small, timid motions, being sure not to arouse or excite anyone around me. Or 2) I “over twerked” and danced in a way that diminished my power and gave it to others. - So now I reclaim that power. I reclaim the sacred right to move my body however I choose.
