This was a simply stunning day celebrating two truly lovely people at the gorgeous and historic Small Arms Inspection Building.
The Boston ferns that filled the 18,000 square foot gallery-esque space also doubled as favours — an ingenious idea to reduce waste while being gorgeous and green! (Bonus: I ended up taking 3 of these ferns home, and have miraculously managed to keep them alive and thriving all these months later!)

As precarious as the weather can make planning for outdoor photo sessions this time of year—when it does work, what a pay off! 🍂🧡✨

1. Think about how the final product will look—imagine the photos you want framed on your wall to look at for years to come—what do you want to be in the background of those photos?
2. Consider locations that are significant and sentimental to 𝘺𝘰𝘶𝘳 love story—as well as being beautiful!
3. Always trust your photographer’s input, they do this all the time & will know better than anyone how to get the most out of your vision! — Trust the pros!

As a vendor, I’m feeling this big time. It’s exciting to finally feel like we’ll be able to get back to doing what we love—celebrating our clients’ love—in a big way.
But this is also having a huge effect on what those weddings are going to look like this year. From what I’ve witnessed, the past couple of years have influenced wedding clients in 2 major ways.
1. We’ve waited so long, we’re want to go big.
and/or…
2. We no longer care about a lot of the things we would have previously done out of a sense or tradition or obligation.
This second point is a big one. The pandemic has forced couples (whether they’ve been postponing for years, or newly engaged) to reevaluate their priorities when it comes to their big day as far as what (and who) they really need to have the wedding of their dreams. To borrow a phrase from the great founder, Aleisha McCormack, a lot of antiquated traditions have gone in the F*ck It Bucket.
Clients have also had to get a bit more creative when it comes to the availability of their vendors, venues & guests. As a planner, I personally 𝘵𝘩𝘳𝘪𝘷𝘦 on unique and unconventional events, and I live for nontraditional spaces as wedding venues.
