Grateful for the opportunity to be on a panel tonight after a viewing of this film. Please take time to view if you have interest. I was honored to be in community on the panel with an outstanding collection of Spiritual Care Providers at Lighthouse Mosque in Oakland, Calfifornia. Some of the questions we were asked were:
1. How do chaplains' various identities (spiritual, racial/ethnic, gender, etc.) impact their work and experience as chaplains? (Particularly when one or more of these identities is marginalized within the work setting or larger society)
2. What does it look like to support the spiritual development of people in institutional settings?
3. What does it mean to be grounded in one's own faith tradition, no matter what it is, to be able to amply serve others (of the same or different faith traditions, or no identified faith tradition)?
