Hi everyone! I (me Alex, not WRO) am looking for a few coaches to teach at an online summer camp. You could be from any country. The primary requirements are your WRO coaching skills and English skills that are sufficient for young students to understand clearly. We will be paying up to $50USD per hour depending on experience.

Experience with the Virtual Robotics Toolkit , and CAD is a bonus.

Please send a CV and a short video of yourself teaching something to:

Congratulations to the United Arab Emirates on their arrival at the planet Mars today.

Their HOPE orbiter will perform a detailed study of the atmosphere, which long ago sustained running water on the Martian surface. Now it doesn’t.

Lessons for us back on Earth, waiting to be learned.

If 2020 taught us anything, it's that teaching robotics can continue, even when many kids can't meet in person to learn, build and program. While we hope for an end to the pandemic in 2021, we're planning an amazing online international final in November.

A film about students from around the globe who compete in the World Robot Olympiad. To claim the coveted championship, they use their engineering skills, LEGO ingenuity, and competitive drive to qualify regionally, nationally, and internationally.

The pandemic might have hijacked headlines for now, but climate change is still a huge challenge for humanity. So it’s only fitting that the international World Robot Olympiad theme this year is Climate Squad. At WRO2020-X, our international online event in November, students get to practice skills that can help solve some of humanity’s biggest challenges. Missions for the ‘Regular’ challenges will be announced during the event. Participants then get 24hrs to submit a short video of their robot solving the challenge.

WRO teams can register directly online. Teams can be of 1, 2 or 3 students. WRO Canada will publish an event calendar on wro2020canada.org containing links to all events, and live streams.

New study shows WRO impact on learning!
WRO Germany has conducted a study in cooperation with the University of Würzburg, and with the support of the Dr. Hans Riegel Foundation.

“The results of the evaluation of the World Robot Olympiad are very positive across the board. It is particularly noteworthy that in addition to the expected hard skills, soft skills are also successfully promoted. It is also noteworthy that participants still benefit from the competition even if they take part multiple times,” says Professor Dr. Martin Hennecke, University of Würzburg.

Teaching kids robotics just got easier with Virtual Robotics Toolkit – and it’s free for WRO teams through 2020!

“WRO wants to continue to give everyone a chance to explore robotics. Virtual Robotics Toolkit is a great step towards this goal. With its easy access and training material, VRT can support educators with their distance learning efforts," says Claus Ditlev Christensen, Secretary General WRO.
