đ¤ŻYesterday was pure chaos, and after sleeping on it, we just had to share the madness with you all đ
Our lunch hour was busier than ever, and for some reason, we kept making small mistakes that added up to frustrating moments it felt like we couldnât catch a break. Around noon, we had three pots of rice âreadyâ for the rush, but when we were about to serve the third pot, we realized the rice was undercooked. With over eight customers waiting for platters, I couldnât help but break down in the kitchen not because of the undercooked rice, but because I hate when our customers canât get what they came for in a timely manner.
Then, around 3 PM, a customer came to pick up their lasagna. In my rush to get it ready, I accidentally dropped it and had to start all over again.
To top it off, around 3:30 PM, while my sister Rous was working on a cake order, one of our associates started experiencing chest pain. Without hesitation, Rous stopped everything to rush her to the hospital. Meanwhile, customer arrived to pick up their cake order, which were still sitting unfinished in the fridge.
Thankfully, all of our customers were incredibly understanding. Our associate is doing much better now, and the lasagna made it to the rehearsal dinner right on time.
Yesterday was one of those days where, no matter how hard we tried, we couldnât shake the feeling that it just wasnât enough. The unexpected challenges threw everything off balance. On days like this, Iâd love to step outside for a breath of fresh air if only it werenât so cold!
But amidst the chaos, seeing familiar faces and new customers reminded me why we do what we do. Knowing that our food brings joy to others makes all the hard work worth it.
And at the end of the day, nothing feels more satisfying than stepping back and seeing a spotless kitchen, a small but meaningful reminder that we made it through.
Thank you all for your support; it truly keeps us going! â¤ď¸
