Hi! I wanted to introduce my cottage business "formally" to the community those afar and reacquaint some of you with this part of my life. Some of you have already seen me selling my baked goods at "The Merc at Haas" and at pop-ups out at "The Market" in Weiser, Idaho. I have appreciated the overwhelming and kind response to my product, both locally and from afar.
After spending a lot of my adult life traveling and learning, my husband and I moved back to Idaho, well, I moved back and I brought him and my daughters along for the ride. 😊 It is good to be back in what I consider one of my home states (Washington being the other), being near family, reconnecting with old friends, and settling into Weiser which held fond memories from my childhood.
I am a self-trained cook and baker having gained my knowledge at the apron strings of my grandmothers; my mom, and several amazing regional cooks as I have traveled and lived in major food hubs of the United States, including New Mexico, New York, New York, Los Angeles, and the great PNW, a wee bit north of Seattle. I have cooked professionally for the College of Idaho, as well as Base Camp Cook at a Mountaineering Camp in Canada and all manner of places in between. Before moving to Idaho I owned my own small catering and concierge company, "Extra Care and Special Touches" is my motto. I am slowly easing myself into the area and look forward to seeing where life takes "Butter & Berries"
I hope you will consider sharing this FB page as well as stopping by any events I "pop up" at. I also do private orders for events and will be expanding my menu soon, currently, my specialty hand-formed shortbreads are available for order (I do offer limited shipping). All are made with love, AA butter as well as the highest quality add-ins that are locally sourced when possible including lavender from "Weiser Lavender" and this week candied pecans from "Weiser Classic Candy" will make their way into shortbreads. Next week at "The Markets" pop-up, here in Weiser I will be offering six varieties of shortbread: Orange Chocolate, Orange Cranberry, Almond, Vanilla Matcha, Triple Chocolate Espresso, and Candied Pecan, as well as bags of buttery garlic croutons for your summer salads and chunks of my naked carrot cake (no nuts or raisins).
