DJ Baddog’s Tips and Questions for Hiring a DJ
(In no certain order)
1. First Question; Are you available on -----/----- date?
2. Please supply your phone # and e-mail address.
3. Are deposits required?
4. When is the payment due?
5. Will your party be indoor or outdoor?
6. If outdoors, will a shelter/canopy be supplied?
7. Will your party be held in two separate locations?
8. Will microphones be needed?
9. If there is a reason you need to cancel, please inform the DJ as soon as possible.
10. Most DJ’s require a dedicated power supply with no one else on it..
11. Your DJ cannot move once setup. Be sure to have the DJ included where the people will be; Dancing, eating, drinking, smoking, playing, games and/or swimming.
12. Let the DJ know what type of music you want to be played. Do you want to stay with a certain type of music or play to the crowd/request?
13. A list of “MUST PLAY” songs are great. A list of song suggestions are great. It takes on the average 20 songs per hour.
14. Can your DJ supply any song you want at the highest quality?
15. What type of equipment will your DJ provide.
16. Can others hook into the DJ’s Equipment? (Such as pianos, guitars or small bands)
17. Question: How do you expect your DJ to Dress?
18. Does your DJ Have backup equipment if something fails?
19. How long will it take for the DJ to setup or pull down.
20. I have one.. But you can great a great DJ that has no license (Anybody can go out and get a $35.00 license and have never DJ’ed before). Just Saying.
21. Will your venue let you use the DJ of your choice or do you have to pick their “Preferred DJ”
