It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Margaret Wegner, our Fair Board President for 43 years, on December 26, 2024. Margaret dedicated her life to the Midland County Fair and the agricultural community, leaving an indelible legacy of leadership, education, and support.

Her contributions include founding the Junior Fairboard, leading as a 4-H mentor for 56 years, and preserving local history through projects like the renovation of the Leiphart Schoolhouse. Margaret’s tireless dedication shaped the Fairgrounds into the cherished community space it is today.

She will be profoundly missed, but her legacy will continue to inspire us all. Our thoughts are with her family during this time. Rest in peace, Margaret.

It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of one of our fairboard directors and superintendents, Helena Hickerson. Helena was a dedicated leader and a true friend to everyone involved in the fair.

She devoted countless hours of her time to ensuring the success of our fair, leaving a lasting and positive impact on our community.

Helena will be deeply missed. Our thoughts and prayers are with her family and friends during this difficult time.
