LOVE ON THE SUBWAY — where my love for public transportation and flowers finally collided. Every time I ride the subway I think about where flowers would fit in, so bringing this concept to life felt so inspiring. We accented all of its’ perfect nooks and crannies with psychedelic orchids, carnations & moss with Miguel & Justice as our muses. A gentle reminder you can get married anywhere — make it a place that’s special to you & yours 🎀

August is one of my favorite months of the year for flowers (looking at you, zinnias) and working with in season product is something we always encourage our clients to do here at Flower Disco. For Alissa & Walter, we focused on locally sourced blooms and bouncy, organic movement throughout. The clear tent gave us the perfect blank slate to transform the space into a vibrant, gardenesque dream —

Our favorite table of 2023 💚 I’m deeply inspired by the architecture of New York City and wanted to do right by it by pushing creative boundaries with this design. We used a serpentine shaped table, glass bricks as vessels and newspapers as tablecloth. There was just something so fitting about slapping the New York Times all over a table in this empty, grungy warehouse. 2024 will be another year of funky tables, mark my words 🤝

Hayley’s bouquet, film edit | 🤎 Hayley wanted her wedding to feel relevant to the season, but with a unique twist so we narrowed down the palette to the unexpected off-tones of fall. We ditched the classic oranges and used rich eggplant, deep chocolate, & warm crimson tones for a more modern, elevated feel. It’s easy to become overwhelmed and swayed by what you see on Pinterest, but curating color palettes is something we pride ourselves on. So show us your inspo (or don’t) and we’ll come up with a design that’s one of its kind.

Main character: marigolds 🍊 We knew we wanted a color pop for this design and settled on orange to contrast against the beige tones of this abandoned warehouse. If you know you want some vibrancy to your day but want to keep it chic and refined, consider this a sign to choose a monochromatic palette | Designed alongside the best team, + 🍊

Designing in this Brooklyn warehouse was truly unmatched. We used nearly 400 glass blocks to create a staging platform for Kennedy + Ocean to stand on for the ceremony design. Our team set every single one in place... in just one hour. This is another reminder that our process involves more than just flowers — we conceptualize an entire vision for your day with all other elements considered so that everything speaks to each other in a cohesive & intentional way.

We are often asked how we choose what blooms to use for each event and in short... it's not a simple process. We get most of our inspiration from surroundings, particularly those of the event we're designing in. We will *not* look at your Pinterest photos and mimic the recipe of your inspiration photos, no matter how much easier that sounds. We quite literally spend ✨countless hours✨ thinking through designs, making moodboards, curating recipes and palettes that are completely unique to YOU, and that’s why having full trust from our clients is a vital component to this process. For this design, we were inspired by the colors and textures of Brooklyn Chinatown… can you tell? ❤️‍🔥
