One of the most common questions I am asked during a consultation is “what are people currently doing about RSVPs?” Are they doing traditional mail in cards and envelopes? Or are they having guests RSVP online? Honestly, it is so 50/50! It truly depends on what your preference is. Some people worry about the post office being unreliable, so they prefer to do an online response. Being the paper person, I love doing an RSVP card and envelope. My best gift to myself for my wedding (without even knowing it!) was having RSVP cards. So many of my guests wrote notes on the back that I will cherish forever ✨💌

In our invitation consultation, E had dreams of a patterned black and white dance floor ✨ We used that as inspiration for her invitations and created a modern pocket design to hold her invitation pieces in. A classic suite with a modern twist! Congratulations E&A!

There are so many people who have helped me this year, but I couldn’t have done it without you three. Michelle taught me a new project management system, came over often to help with invitation assembly, and helped with a day-of install in DC. Mom helped with invitation assembly and was my go-to person to call with business and life questions. Mark managed bedtimes while I was in consultations, cooked all our meals, and was always be there when I needed advice (oh and stamped envelopes along the way!). I love you three so much, THANK YOU for everything you do! 🤍

Let’s talk ASSEMBLY!
One of those things you don’t see in invitations is the amount of time it takes to put each suite together once everything is printed. For 99% of my clients, I pack each suite and mail them out to the guests. Depending on the suite, it can take up to a WEEK to fully prep all the suites for mailing. Checking all addresses, lining envelopes, applying invitation backings, cutting (and sometimes ironing 🤣) ribbon, hand making individual wax seals, making pockets, applying stamps (sometimes 1, sometimes 7!), and stuffing each envelope with the correct inserts for each guest. That’s why I bake in a solid week of prep time after the invitations are shipped to me.

I know 5 full weeks of production can feel like a long time… It takes 3 full business weeks to get invitations printed, then a few days of shipping, and then a week of prepping to mail. But I promise, it is so worth it! ✨
