Sweetheart table or head table? What's your jam? We did a sweetheart table for our wedding and loved it. It allowed our wedding party to sit with their partners and family. It gave us time together (which you don't really get on your big day) and it made the seating arrangements a lot less bulky at the front of the room. Both options have pros and cons. We are all for what makes you happy!

Before and after of an 80x80 machine shed. More pictures to come!! This was such a fun job to work on with and the Rush family. They got married last year, in the trenches of the pandemic, cutting their 400+ person reception down to 60-100. Now on their 1 year anniversary weekend they get to have the celebration they've been waiting for! So happy for Brooke and Tommy. Great couple.

Sometimes ya gotta just get on that dang ladder yourself and MAKE IT HAPPEN. The winds this week made us wonder if this massive 20' setup was even possible for at . But the greater powers came through, wind died down, and the owners at Miller Farms Barn and Amanda at helped us pull this beauty off. 💕

Highlight of my week ... Getting to hear Emma's reaction when she saw the reception setup for the first time. 😭 👰🥰♥️

When a pandemic happens and you still knock the socks off of your own wedding plans... and Tommy took the bull by the horns earlier this year and ended up with an amazing wedding day, despite some major hiccups caused by the rona. Their original plans had them set up in a giant morton building, ready for 300+ guests. They ended up downsizing to 50 or so guests and moving their big day to their family's machine shed. And it was all done so gracefully. We loved helping to transform the shed in to a warm, dreamy space for the couple. Excited for more intimate, home-based weddings in the new year. 🥰 They're kind of our jam these days!

Loving the idea of canopy setups for ceremonies and sweetheart tables these days! It's a four post setup. Add greenery or florals to the sides and voila you have now replaced the standard arbor with some real, romantic personality. 😍

Happy Father's Day to all the dads, expecting fathers, step dads and fathers that have loved and lost. We wouldn't be the people we are without you in our lives. It takes an act to be a father but a lot of love to be a "dad."

This past weekend, we had the pleasure of meeting Tim and Abbie, venue owners of .

We love the story of their venue and wanted to share it with you all.
Uniquely placed on a wildlife preserve, this adorable venue is built in her great grandfather's giant work shed. Five generations have lived on this property! The venue is in its second year of operation. Abbie's background in interior architecture design helped her renovate it in to a perfect space for an event and wedding venue. They're lovely, kind, genuine people that would be a dream to work with if you're looking for a venue in the Champaign-Urbana area.

Can't wait to work with these two and get some draping samples in this amazing space!

So, there is a pandemic...and you're getting married this year...I'd say, let's all take a long, deep breath together.

Everything is going to be perfect, no matter what. Your big day will happen and it's going to be wonderful, even if your 2nd cousin from Italy can't join you or your best friend is freaked out about airplanes right now. Keep your head up and don't fret. ❤️ I know, I know, easier said than done. But that is all we can do....Oh, and wash your hands. 👰

Last week we visited the ADORABLE, cozy, industrial Trailside Event Center at in Peoria. Met with Mark, who is incredibly nice and easy to work with.

Putting together some look ideas for the venue. A few ideas come to mind, including room dividers, wedding party backdrops, and grand entrance decorations. Can't wait to get started on these!

How it all started...

When planning our own wedding in 2019, we found that decorations and draping were significantly overpriced and difficult to coordinate. The price of draping was jaw dropping. It would have doubled our decorations budget alone. It was shocking.

So, after the wedding, we decided to start up Willow and Ivory Events in order to provide affordable, beautiful, simple drape decor for brides in the Central Illinois area. There are only a few draping providers in the area, costing brides thousands of dollars for a single day event. Why does it have to be so costly? We strive to make your venue as beautiful as you imagine it, for a reasonable price.
