Looking forward to hosting you soon!

Rain, rain go away! So disappointed to have to reschedule a girls garden party we were hosting at Salisbury Studios this evening. Look at this gorgeous location tucked away in Midlothian!

When hosting an outdoor event, a backup plan is a must! We collaborated with the owner of Salisbury prior to booking to determine our options if the weather didn’t cooperate and made sure to communicate with our guests in advance of the party to let them know an alternative might be needed. We recommend making the call to cancel or reschedule an event at a minimum of 24 hours before party start time if not earlier in situations where weather might impact your ability to host outside.

Now there are some celebrations you just can’t move the date for - like a wedding, that’s probably not going to happen! When picking an outdoor location, determine the best plan B for a rainy situation, this is where an event planner can help guide you. Tents, reschedule or embrace, the party must go on - even if it’s on another day 😉

We’re embracing nature’s helpers at Salisbury Studios! Volunteer ferns flourish around our greenhouse while we’ve worked to spruce up the outside with some spring blooms. We’re adding shade cloth to the ceiling and sides, creating the perfect ambiance for photographers to capture nature’s beauty in each frame. 📸🌸

Hi! 👋🏻 We’re the Lawhornes and we run Salisbury Studios. We realized we haven’t formally introduced ourselves on Instagram 😉

The idea of the greenhouse was born in 2020. Our love of nature was reinforced during this time and we sought a retreat in nature. This dream is a collaboration and a labor of family love. Our vision is to create a magical place that you feel drawn to return to— a relaxing spot for rejuvenating and connecting whether it’s through photography, a micro-wedding, or a gathering with friends and family.
