Yesterday’s event was our last event of 2024.

A CRAYON KID PARTY!!! 🩷💙❤️💛🧡💚

We normally don’t take events this late in December, but this party was for baby CJ (from the CareBears baby shower) and his big sister Royalty. We love when our baby shower clients come back when baby turns 1 so we made an exception.

As we already know from the CareBear baby shower, our client Andrea loves color. We weren’t surprised at all when she asked for a colorful crayon themed party for her babies. It turned out super cute! And no you’re not seeing things…. Yes those are crayons hanging in the air 🙌🏽

Last wedding of 2024!!! Congratulations to Mr. and Mrs. Lawyer!!!

Yesterday So ChiC was in Emporia Virginia for the wedding of Michael and Angelique. When the bride told us their wedding colors, we immediately saw the vision, BUT we always ask our brides to send photos of their wedding inspiration… and guess what… she sent us photos of our own work.

So for this wedding, we knew we had to use our gold trusses because she loved them so much. With cocktail hour being in a separate space and us being able to move all of the ceremony decor items into the reception, we were able to give her the ceremony arch and sweetheart area that she desired. If you’re familiar with Golden leaf Commons, you know they have that giant bay door that can be an eyesore to any event hosted there so of course, we fully covered it with our 25ft draping. With such a huge set of drapes we had to make it a moment, so we designed a beautiful focal point with 8ft photos of the bride and groom using their engagement photos. Everything turned out beautifully.

Let’s also take a moment to point out the gorgeous sweetheart chairs. We’ve had for over a year just waiting on the perfect event 🙌🏽

When your birthday is on HALLOWEEN and you want your celebration to be CHIC

This black and gold Halloween themed birthday party was a hit. We had a hard time finding what we wanted in gold, so we made theme all gold ourselves. For balloons we decided on an all black balloon with gold skeleton arms and a 5.5ft tall skeleton standing between giant marquee numbers. It was fright-tastic.

Yesterday was so beautiful!! We were contacted a few months ago by Christy Lewis to design a….. SURPRISE VOW RENEWAL in 📍Stafford, VA. The bride, Andrea, had no idea this was in the works until yesterday morning. This is how you celebrate 30 years 💙.

Approximately 100 guests came in their best all black formal wear we just couldn’t stop complimenting everyone that walked through the door. Christy did an amazing job putting this together Huge thank you to her for trusting us. You and the groom Mederic set the bar high. Thank you both so much for choosing So ChiC!

Today marks the end of our 3rd year in business! Closing out year 3 with 21 events. We also provided a few rentals this past year and provided services like floor wraps and luxury draping for other event professionals. We’d like to thank everyone that trusted us with their events this past year. We’ve definitely pushed ourselves creatively all while keeping it ChiC. We secured more QUALITY clients which is always a win!

The goal for this past year was to not take anymore than 20 events so we did good only going over by 1! This upcoming year we’d like to scale back some more (better work/family balance) and max out at 14-16 events. Again thank you for all your support. Every booking, like, share, referral, etc yall are all part of the ChiC Family 🫶🏽

This client is very special to us for reasons we won’t post due to privacy but what we can say is: When life puts you on an unexpected roller coaster, you put your hands up and ride! Things happen that are out of our control all the time, but we can control what we make out of it. (Hopefully that reaches whoever it needs to 🙏🏽)

We had fun designing this theme for a woman this time as we are the flower girls ✨ so we were so excited to create these Diamond feather and floral centerpieces for an elegant rendition of the Harlem Nights theme.

One word… RETIRED!!!

So ChiC Boho Style 💛🤎

This client had no idea that this retirement dinner party was being planned for her… the original date was for her party was 3/30/24 and her retirement got pushed back to June. Her daughter was in a panick!!! Luckily we were able to quickly reschedule all vendors and continue to plan this gorgeous event for her.

Although a full planner is not required, this really makes it so that you just have to show up and enjoy.

Yesterday, So ChiC hit the road again for another ChiC Sweet 16 in Woodbridge, VA.

Our client, Javier, asked for a royal blue, black, and silver SNEAKER BALL for her daughter and we went straight to work on our design… that was changed about 4 times 🤣. The last design change happened less than 2 weeks before the event and it is 🔥. We wanted a sneaker ball design that didn’t have the standard sneaker centerpieces and reflected the So ChiC brand. So we cooked up these cascading floral centerpieces with neon sneakers hanging in the center. Everything came out gorgeous 💙

Also we wanted a small sneaker detail so we called on non other than Elegant Embellishments to design these gorgeous napkin rings. Small details always make a big statement.

One of the first questions we ask every bride is “What are you colors?” When Star told us “red, purple and gold” we immediately got excited!

We can’t thank Jynell and Star enough for trusting us while all the way in Georgia, never meeting until less than 30 days before the wedding which was very brief. They literally put all their faith in us.

Backstory: when we first saw The Hidden Oaks on social media right before it opened, we started praying for the budget and the wedding so that we could design there. Less than 60 days later, our prayers were answered. Won’t He do it. There’s more to this testimony, but we will save that for later…
