"Change is hard at first, messy in the middle and gorgeous at the end." - Robin Sharma
Growing up I would try something different with a sketch or a painting and find myself frustrated when it didn't go as planned. Much like Bob Ross's famous words "happy little accident" my momma would always remind me to get creative and change my plan. Maybe those accidental speckles of black in the sky could turn into birds or a few extra strokes could turn that smudge into a wildflower. Why share this story, because change brings risks, and risks bring messy middles, but sometimes the messy middle is where we begin to see the beauty of what could be.
Before it could ever have its day this rock was found in a heap, smoothed and polished, edged with gold and labeled with shimmering letters declaring the person's name and their special space. You can bet that before it's day of glory there was a lot of dirt, grim and muck surrounding this stone. But it wasn't left in the messy middle. And here is the beautiful part, the messy middle is just that, the middle, it's not the end. Beautiful things often to come from messy middles.
