Truly, madly, deeply, this has been a dream venue for us to host the Black Boujie Brunch. Not only is it a stunning and productive workspace, but it is also a beacon for the community, showcasing what is possible. They have an incredible team, great membership perks, and a collaborative energy that calls us to the next level.

While you return home, your event planner is diligently orchestrating the final acts of your celebration. With care and precision, tables are folded, chairs stacked, and decorations removed, each element handled tenderly to ensure its safe return. Your event wrap-up hums with meticulous detail.

Good morning, friends! Today, I want to remind you all about the power of trusting your instincts. I recently had an experience where I met a man and I didn’t necessarily feel unsafe, but something didn’t sit right. As the night went on, their behavior toward me turned domineering, mocking and argumentative. Their conversation became hyper negative about his mom, women and the gay community.
Again, I wasn’t unsafe. It was just highly unnerving and uncomfortable.
Remember, discomfort is a signal too. A person DOES NOT need to be overtly unsafe in their words and their behavior before you speak up. I shut down the conversation, and it’s something I’m reflecting on this morning. Trust yourself to protect your space. Especially if you are in a position of authority where you can ask this person to leave, or not hire them back. Protect your team (whether they’re on your payroll or not). Trust your instincts, speak up, and let’s keep making magic happen.
