My two farm helpers are taking a break from the fields. They decided a conversation amongst the pumpkins was preferred to chopping off dead dahlia branches and placing them in a pile.
Maybe they will be rested up by the time I get off work today. 😂
I mean, they are seasonal hires as they have to leave on November 1st. 😉 They need to get busy!
Yesterday was happy to be a small part of Keywood Animal Clinic LLC’s annual fundraiser for by donating a few dahlia bouquets to their silent auction.
I foraged for quite a few elements to complete them; but, they turned out great as Mr. Frost hasn’t visited the farm yet. I hear tonight might end differently!
At least these gorgeous dahlias were able one last time to shine!
Nothing quite like a walk in the rain to catch bees sleeping 💤 in the dahlia blooms.
It just makes my heart happy!
I almost cut one bloom before I caught a glimpse of his little leg.
Needless to say, these blooms stayed out and their nap continued on.

I finally had time to complete a flat lay! So much beauty and so many varieties of that I just couldn’t miss out on this moment. I can feel a hard frost growing nearer, so, I captured this moment in time to pull me through the winter.

Saturday, I was honored to design flowers for my aunt and uncle’s 60th wedding anniversary. 60!!! How amazing. These are a few of the centerpieces that were created out of our fields . The dahlias love this cooler weather but I know it is going to be any day now.

Happily welcoming October! This is the month we clear the 2023 fields and put the farm to bed. All that is left is Dahlia Frostmas and harvesting tubers for winter storage.
Tomorrow (Saturday) is our last bouquets ! The vases have so many dahlias!!!
The store opens at 10AM and their vendors have a huge variety of so many gorgeous items!!!

Lyla loves her morning farm walks. She checks to make sure the honey bees 🐝 are happy, the rabbits 🐇 leave the tomatoes alone, and the doves 🕊️ do their morning shuffle. It is funny how the doves have no fear of her and they just waddle to the next row of flowers.
Who says a teddy bear Shishon doesn’t make the perfect farm dog?

The farm is quiet today after a wonderful time at our last U-Pick of the season. Special thanks to for photographing the occasion!
It is harvest time now. Time to save annual seeds, plant biennial flower seeds and build a gothic tunnel for crop season extension. Great things are happening this fall on the farm!

Another CSA bouquet out the door. This one is moody with hints that this hot summer is slowly turning into a warm autumn days.
This weekend kicks off and many other colleges and high school programs across the nation. I can definitely feel a changing of the seasons.
It felt fitting that a lot of rows in my fields are reflection fall colors of gold, orange, maroons and other warm hues.
These and hunkered down in my farm boots speaks volumes to me! Thanks, for introducing me to the best farm footwear!
Zin-sational Zinnias and cosmic Cosmos! The fields are flooded! These gorgeous, unique flowers can easily live two-weeks or more if the water is refreshed every few days!

Come and enjoy a relaxing Friday evening stroll at Grace Bloom Farm and make some beautiful memories with professional photographer, Kristin Jarrells, as you create a gorgeous bouquet for the holiday weekend.
Cost: $40 each ticket (Pre-purchase required to reserve spot)
Kristin will capture 2 hours of candid photos throughout the evening and offer you two posed photos. The album will be shared with each ticketed participant.
Children are always free but must be with a ticketed adult.
Want to bring a spouse or friend to pose with you in your photo? It is only a $5 admission charge for them
to walk the farm (paid on the day of the event for a guest accompanying you).
