It's never fun to have to be the person who can only order a salad off the menu while others have a full meal with buttered rolls followed by great deserts.

When I was diagnosed with celiac gluten sensitivity 5 years ago, it was a serious blow to me because I am a self-professed foodie. What did I do? I laced up my boots and decided I had to continue to not only cook what my friends have always loved, but I had to learn to also cook the same foods and some new ones that I could also enjoy.

As a pescatarian, vegetarian foodie and public health advocate, Mimi King's Kitchen is my platform for providing delicious healthy food options to people with gluten free diets, or other restrictions and/or food sensitivities so that they still enjoy soul food and Caribbean cuisine.

Mimi King’s Kitchen is a food truck and catering company servicing the DMV area, specifically Montgomery County and the Greater DC area, looking to provide healthy soul food options with a Caribbean twist.
