Meet the Panelist! Brittani of Helping Hearts will round out our NON PROFIT & COMMUNITY RESOURCE PANEL!

My name is Brittani Lucio, founder of Helping Hearts, est. 2017; aimed at helping struggling families in Denver City, and surrounding communities. Right now we focus on helping families during the holiday seasons of Thanksgiving and Christmas, but we strive to grow and be able to help families throughout the entire year! We provide turkeys, or grocery gift cards during Thanksgiving, and during Christmas we provide gifts as well as essential clothing and living items. We are donations based, and are able to provide these things by fundraising and the generous contributions of our local community. One of our mottos is, “every penny counts.” Donations don’t have to be extravagant, and volunteering your time is invaluable. As of now we are solely run by my family which includes myself, my husband, and our three children. I would love to grow to have volunteers help with fundraising and passing collections out to families.

I have always had a passion for philanthropy. I started by buying a struggling family’s Christmas every year since I graduated high school. On October 1, 2017, shortly after my second son was born, I was thinking about the upcoming holidays. I thought it would be great to be able to get more people involved, and help more than just one family every year. That was the day that Helping Hearts was born. We’ve taken a break the last couple of years after adding our third baby to the family, but we are back and ready to spread the love this holiday season! I hope to raise awareness about our services, and to gain followers and volunteers who care about their community and want to have a positive impact on their neighbors. Stay tuned to learn more about what we do, and what you can do to be a part of Helping Hearts cause.

Shannon Gilley is the owner of R Cubed Lifestyle as well as a mom to her son, Abran.

Shannon says:
“R Cubed Lifestyle is a small woman owned business in Sacramento, California, established in 2017. We carry home, gift, clothing, vintage and more. We have survived through COVID and most recently a fire that shut us down and took 80% of our inventory. In 2020 we decided to pivot with the times, expanding our space and creating two distinct stores. We have a hat bar (established in 2019), a bauble bar (all the jewels), a denim bar (love this), and we offer premiere customer service. Retail for us is an experience, it’s special to be a place where people choose to spend their money and we recognize that.”

My name is Karen Larrea. I’ve been married for 8 years to my best friend, Adrian. We have two children; Ethan is 10 and Elaina is 5. I am the owner of Laina Wheel Boutique, that I’ve been running and growing for about 5 years. I sell children’s clothing and have even expanded into clothing for all the stylish women out there. What started as a dream and an idea has flourished into my reality! Going from making bows for family and friends to making sales in all 50 states of the USA has been so exciting!

Meet Lorena!
She will be joining us on our Non-Profit Edition of So You Wanna Webinars!

She is the Executive Director of Sheri’s Sheri's House of Hope,Inc

Sheri's House of Hope provides long-term transitional housing and support services to women and children displaced by or fleeing domestic violence, human trafficking, sexual assault, or stalking. They have a 9 bedroom, 4 bath home and are currently full. Their program includes an empowerment program that goes through a curriculum that includes topics such as: emotional and physical abuse, dysfunctional families, setting boundaries, self-worth, etc. They also have a partnership with Washington Federal Bank; who comes in to host weekly Economic Empowerment classes for the ladies staying there.
There is an onsite therapy room several therapists that come in to provide therapy to the ladies, as well as being used particular intakes, monthly 1:1's, parenting classes, etc.

Hotel Texan & Main Street Pizza - Seagraves, TX of Seagraves, Texas

“Like many business people, I have too many projects going on at once! Primarily, I am the owner of two businesses in Seagraves: The Hotel Texan and Main Street Pizza.
The Hotel Texan is a 100-year-old historic hotel that I bought in 2020. The hotel has 7 guest rooms, a dining room, a bar, and a commercial kitchen. It is the only hotel in town and has a very nicely landscaped patio where we host parties and weddings. There is an attached two-bedroom apartment where I live with my 91-year-old father.
Next to the hotel is Main Street Pizza, a 25 seat dine-in and carryout restaurant that sells pizza, chicken wings, sandwiches, and pasta. The restaurant is the only one in Seagraves that is open after late and seven days a week. “

Meet Becky!
Becky will be one of our panelists on our Non-Profit edition of So You Wanna Webinars 👩🏻‍💻

Hi!
My name is Becky Moreno and together my husband Jeff and I founded unity_recovery_solutions in 2021. We are a Hobbs, NM based non profit dedicated to helping women recover and rebuild after a lifetime of substance abuse disorders. We are a sober living residence where women participate in their recovery through 12 step programs, therapeutic classes, nutritional education, and more while holding full time employment and being productive members of society. We provide a safe and sober environment in which women can safely focus on LIVING in sobriety for life. We teach life skills, seek out educational opportunities, provide transportation, and peer support living. We service all of Lea County and West Texas and beyond if need be.

Personally, I was born in Hobbs and moved back in 2020. Being an alcoholic in recovery myself, I noticed a severe lack of resources for women desiring true change within themselves and their lives and wanting sobriety. What began as a vision, has turned into reality when our home opened in November 2022. It is my passion and life’s work to help women recover from addiction and alcoholism and this is just the beginning of what we have dreams of doing in our commUNITY! I believe that when a woman participates in her life and her healing, the whole commUNITY heals, bit by bit.
