My grandmother gave me my love for flowers 💐
She always (and I do mean always) had fresh flowers on her table, and I just loved that idea.
Now here I am in my 30s and a few years ago we bought the first house she and my grandfather built. I knew she loved growing flowers in the yard that she could cut and bring inside, but I thought she had transplanted them when she moved.
My grandmother sadly passed earlier this year, and what have I started noticing growing in the woods this year? Flowers that were planted decades ago, still pushing through though they've had no TLC. 🩷
Her gladiolus have been a particular delight of mine, as they've been slowly blooming one-by-one in various spots in my yard.
I so wish she was here to ask her what the different varieties are and to share them with her, but instead I'll enjoy them fondly and think of her.
I love you, Grandma.
