We grew our first chrysanthemums! So excited to see them pop and can’t wait to learn more about them in the coming years. My Japanese family has grown chrysanthemums for generations and I am so deeply happy to see these bloom - it makes me feel connected to them! ✨🧡 Momo

It is such a meaningful undertaking to build something with one of your closest friends. I am constantly learning from and motivated by her steady drive and commitment to making this more than simply growing beautiful things. Appreciating all the fathers and father figures today, THANK YOU for life. Our hearts hold space for fathers who have lost or are lost. We must do better by our future generations and foster more resources for parents and their children, especially BIPOC families. This is a reminder that we are offering free flowers for BIPOC, if you would like to send your loved one a bouquet DM or email us!💚 We will deliver them for free within 10 miles of the farm, or if you would like to pickup and deliver yourself we can do that too. Don’t be shy if the flowers are for you, we love an act of self care!

Also, we love and admire the work that is doing! “Built on a decade of work of founding members of the Black Food Sovereignty Council and other Black-identified leaders and stakeholders in the Pacific Northwest, the BFSC mission is to ignite Black and brown communities to participate as owners and movement leaders within food systems, placemaking, and economic development.” As part of that effort they fundraise for an initiative to connect Black farmers to Black families via a CSA paid for by donors. BLACK LIVES MATTER. Throughout our flower CSA season, each Sunday HHA Floral will donate bouquets to BIPOC in the Portland area. If you would like to nominate a loved one to receive a bouquet please DM or email us! In addition, we are accepting donations on Venmo solely to help us pay for flowers we source from other local growers. Any leftover donations will be directed to a local organization focused on defunding the police, bailing people out of jail, or supporting communities of color. Feel free to recommend an organization you’d like to direct extra funds to with your donation.

Last weekend we donated bouquets to a group of Benson HS 2020 ESL graduates. They didn’t get much of a graduation ceremony this year and we wanted to recognize their astonishing perseverance in fighting for an education within a system that is stacked against them. It is important, now and always, to take action for those who have to unjustly fight so hard to live in this country. Flowers are but a fleeting expression of support, and are only one of many ways we can reallocate our resources to the community. Still, we firmly believe that people need beauty surrounding them to nourish the strength needed in the struggle for justice. Keep striving, critiquing, learning, and creating, we promise to do the same. Power to the people, flowers to the people!

Grateful for ! They provide all natural bee and wasp removal in the Portland area. This honeybee hive is from their first job last year 😍 it’s healthy and ACTIVE. We love having so many pollinators on the farm!

A note from your friends at HHA♥️

We have been using this unique time to put in work at Hell’s Half Acre Floral! We are grateful to say we will continue to grow and provide bouquets/services through the season as planned. We will be opening our CSA next week to anyone who feels drawn to it, and are in conversation about how to provide flowers for those who may be having a hard time right now. It’s an interesting time to be starting a business, but right now we are enjoying the ability to slow down and pay extra special attention to our bb flowers, ourselves, and the land.

Also, we see y’all out there in your gardens making the most of your free time! ✨Stay tuned ✨for flower starts, we will have some really special varietals available soon for you to grow and enjoy in your garden!
