Thank you for a great rental season! Our last rental on our calendar for this year was today. We do accept bookings and provide rentals year round so don't be afraid to reach out throughout winter! Kris is taking a vacation now and has a lot of ideas for next season. He is also looking for a winter job if anyone has ideas. Thank you again for supporting us on this adventure!

Friday and Saturday were all games! We provided Giant games for an all school tailgate party hosted by De Pere High School Parent Club on Friday night. Then on Saturday, we provided Giant games and 9 hole mini golf for a Scouting event! Make your next event more fun by renting games!

Do you LOVE Halloween but don't have time to decorate your yard or have room to store all the supplies? Event Rentals By Kris will spook out your yard for $199. We have enough supplies for two yards. Each yard will include a big spider web, orange and/or purple string lights, front door/porch display, graveyard with "fence/chains," and several other items. Surprise your kids! We will decorate on or before Oct. 14th. and pick up everything a few days after Halloween. We also have a fog machine available to rent for the spooky season!

Horse Trailer to Mobile Bar Conversion Day 5
I didn't spend a lot of time on the trailer today due to other projects, however, I did manage to remove all the trim and sheet metal. Sometimes, you have to tear things down to build them back up. I am part-time renovator, full-time dreamer! Imagine the possibilities!

PROJECT MOBILE BAR DAY 3
Today I removed the plywood walls, bought a grinder, started removing random bolts, and added a magnet! So far, I am loving this adventure, but the grinder makes me a bit nervous! Be a part of this project and comment below what color you think the outside of the trailer should be! That part is a ways off, but the ideas are already flowing.

Getting to know Kris and the Event Rental Biz part 2

What is your favorite thing about having an Event Rental Business?
I know how stressful planning a party can be. I love that I can help alleviate some of that stress by showing up on time, being very communicative, and providing quality products and services. My other favorite part is when customers offer us food or drinks if we are picking up the same night. The only time I forget to eat is when I am working 40 hours in 3 days.

What is your least Favorite part?
Probably trying to grow the business without yet having a trailer or warehouse. The growing pains are real! My garage is bursting. My basement is full. My shed is full. My upstairs bedroom is not a bedroom anymore. The van is always loaded. We will get there though! Is everything about the business going to be perfect? Of course not. We plan to buy a trailer in the spring and depending on number of bookings, maybe next year we can rent a space.

What was the hardest part about starting the business?
I started a business, got a puppy, and had a full time job all at the same time. I wouldn’t say there was anything really hard about the business. Hardest part was lack of sleep due to it all. But 2 years later, I wouldn’t go back and change anything. I wouldn’t ever get a puppy again though. Can you believe I started by operating out of my Pontiac Vibe? Getting the van was the best thing for the growth of the business. Next best thing will be an enclosed trailer.

Kris, how do you come up with all the ideas?
My usual answer is that my brain is a scary place. I am like my dad. I am always plotting and scheming. If you’ve know me long enough, you know that I solo traveled in SE Asia for 32 months on 3 separate trips between 2014-2018. Traveling taught me so many valuable lessons. One being, just make a decision and go do it with confidence, but still be flexible. For example, you have two options…start a pressure washing business or start an event rental company. But you don’t know which one to do so you never act on either. Or you can just pick one and make it work. If you ask Joey from the TV show friends cake or pie, his answer would be both. We can’t let the fear of the unknown outcomes stop us from trying. If you have a dream, just go do it!

What do you like to do in your spare time?
Spare time. What is that? Haha. I spend more time organizing my garage than I care to admit. But that is really due to lack of space. I dream of other business ideas. I travel. I eat asian food. I travel to eat asian food. I spend time with friends. I write about my travels. Mostly though, I hang out with my dog. Next month though, I am hosting a trip to Indonesia! Ever dream of traveling to Asia, but the distance makes you nervous? Or you don't have anyone to go with? Shoot me a message and I will let you know when I do the next one. I hope to offer this trip every two years! I only allow 10 people to come and I take you to the hidden gems of Bali and Yogyakarta!

Do you barter services?
Absolutely! In fact, right now I am looking for someone to replace my kitchen sink and cabinets in exchange for rental items!

Do you listen to any business podcasts?
Yes, I do! I love Gary V. He is the best. He doesn’t hold back and he tells it like it is. I have learned so much from him.
