Huge thank you to everyone who came to the show at Proyecto on Sunday. It was a super special one for us, and we had a bunch of people tell us afterward how meaningful the show was to them.

Not to get all cheesy, but that’s why we do this — we love this town and just want people to be proud to be from here.

We aren’t the first or only team with that goal in mind, and we certainly won’t be the last, but hopefully that collective effort over time keeps building into a community of creative people and weirdos who feel like Lincoln is the place for them.

Sunday capped off a wild stretch of five shows in nine days. It was exhausting but very rewarding, and you all showed up. We’re super grateful. We’ll have some more shows to announce soon, including a house show going on the calendar tomorrow — we’ll see you at the next one 🙂

THREE shows this week, and they’re all STACKED :D

WEDNESDAY – Virginia future-pop band Drook plays Duffy’s with DJ Beetlebitch, Goosehens and Sister Fortune. Drook just released their long-awaited debut LP, “The Pure Joy of Jumping,” which is kind of like if A.G. Cook produced the last Slowdive album

THURSDAY – Single Mothers FINALLY will be at Duffy’s. The Canadian punk legends are celebrating the 10-year anniversary of their landmark debut album, “Negative Qualities.” No bu****it, every song is an absolute banger and they’re playing the whole thing. Don’t F around and miss this one. Also on the bill are Lincoln’s heaviest hitters: Carrier, The Ulcer Twins and Face. Forget cake to the face, catch an elbow!

SUNDAY – Another HUGE one – Philly shoegaze trailblazers They Are Gutting A Body Of Water finally arrive in Lincoln at El Proyecto. If you claim to be a music nerd, you should absolutely be at this one. Gdamn TAGABOW in Lincoln, dude! Her New Knife (also from Philly) and Western Haikus (from Omaha) open

We have a big batch of shows coming for you next month! Here’s what October has in store! 🎃

Starting on Oct. 4, we have Staten Island grunge and nu-metal savants Jigsaw Youth () rocking Duffy’s with Wichita alt-rock queen Yasmin Nur () and Lincoln’s own Blind Searcher )!

On Oct. 6, Philadelphia lo-fi electronica outfit Hooky () will make their first Nebraska stop at Rancho Rodeo! Local support from Heavier Than Air (), an experimental performance art duo soundtracking their projection creations 💫

Forward-thinking dream-pop band Drook () comes to Duffy’s on Oct. 9 with a stacked local bill, featuring Goosehens () (dream pop), DJ Beetlebitch () (breakcore/jungle) and Sister Fortune () (singer-songwriter)!

On Oct. 10, we’re celebrating an anniversary at Duffy’s with Single Mothers (.worldwide)! It’s been 10 years since their cult-classic album Negative Qualities was released, and they’ll be in Lincoln to play through the whole thing live! Carrier (), Face (), and The Ulcer Twins () will be joining the show too! 🎉

And finally, Philadelphia DIY legends They Are Gutting A Body of Water () will be playing on Oct. 13 with an insane shoegaze lineup including Philly’s Her New Knife () and Omaha’s Western Haikus (). We can’t wait to witness this historic bill at El Proyecto!

Sick support announcement! 🌟

Winona Forever and Israel’s Arcade will be joining California indie-punks Mexican Slum Rats on 9/17 at Duffy’s!

Vancouver’s best indie rockers, Winona Forever, have been on a string of tours supporting artists like Ginger Root, as well as appearing at festivals like SXSW and Treefort Music Fest. Aside from crushing tours, the band released their groovy new singles, “Floodlights” and “Fashionably Late,” in June.

Plus! Coachella Valley natives Israel’s Arcade have grown from playing backyard shows to performing across the West Coast, playing SoCal venues like The El Rey Theatre and Santa Ana’s The Observatory.

These three bands will bring their West Coast rock and Canadian charm to Duffy’s on September 17 for an all-ages show! OH! And our best friends Ivory Daze are joining them! Be there!

The return of Philadelphia’s Mechanical Canine *bark bark, gotta blast* 🐶🦾

Mechanical Canine are on a continuos timeline of emo-punk evolution, and their music becomes more sincere, infectious and fun with each release. Last year’s “Walls Covered In Mildew” LP was their sharpest work to date, and it’s led to a lot of big new things for the band.

Happy to have them coming to town on 11/29 with new Lincoln punk band The Darthons and Omaha sweethearts Uh Oh. Love and thanks to our friends at The Swamp for hosting.

Also, Mechanical Canine features a long lost Lincolnite on the bass guitar. If you know him, you love him and you should come say hi to him

Broken Record just dropped their second LP, and it ain’t no sophomore slump. Very influenced by 2000s emo, grunge, and pretty much any alt-rock subgenre post 1990. For fans of Title Fight, Tigers Jaw and big loud choruses.

Plus, we’ve got and Letters From Friends, led by members of This Machine Kills Vibes and Motel Citizens, respectively 😯

HEADS UP — this one’s gonna get weird!!!

On May 10, we’re bringing in NYC's Macula Dog, perhaps the strangest experimental pop duo you'll ever hear. Seriously, check out their song "Neosporin." It's like two aliens trying to translate their martian language into English.

We’ll also have Chicago's Ganser coming through. They're a post-punk band that sounds kind of like if Kim Gordon fronted an apocalyptic dance-punk band. They’ll be kicking off their west coast tour here.

On the local side, Levi Klein and Net Avenue will be teaming up for a hyperpop/hip-hop fusion set. PLUS we're bringing in the Omaha avant-garde jazz duo Smith & Jessen.
