Last night's tournament was a lit clash of old school vs new school Brevard 💥

We had 15 entrants - on the lower end - but I believe quality > quantity. & We had a quality bracket full of local killers.

Ultimately the "new age" Brevard won, with Crimson getting 1st in Singles & Doubles (w/ Danny Phantom). Grog got 2nd in Doubles (w/ Jabe) and Danny got 3rd.

No Owen & Fusion this week but I hope Grog/Jabe keep coming out. Great games everyone.

Top 3 from Overtime 55! Congrats to Freakinboring (right) for back-to-back top 3 placements, first in the previous week's side event, & this past weekend in Singles ‼️

THIS is the result of coming out each week, practicing, sticking to your character and grinding past the defeat. This...is what progress looks like 🔥 Meanwhile...

Two talented young men duked it out in a spicy grand finals. Owen reset bracket 3-1, only to get gatekept by Crimson last stock, leaving it at 3-2. Can't get much closer than that!

Whether you've come to one of my tournaments or almost all of them - thank you. Ultimately, the force that allows events to grow and regions to thrive is not the game - but the people playing it. The marathon of using this game to become better versions of ourselves - slowly but surely. Our little region is becoming a powerhouse again, and it's my pleasure to both watch that happen and be a part of it.

This weekend's side event will be taking a different approach...

Calling it a side event doesn't even do it justice. It's more than a 'side event' - it's an EXPERIENCE. One that can't be replicated, or even described. What am I talking about?

None other than a crew battle, of course. (If you know, you know...)

Since the crew battle WILL serve as the official side event, it will be a $2 buy-in, and the whole pot will be distributed evenly among the winning crew! Crew size and registration to be determined on the day of the event.

For those curious how crew battles work, I explained it on the event page below under the "Side Event" section. I'll also be explaining it in-person on event day.

Ladies & Gentlemen, we have done it again. Another epic tournament. We had 21 entrants in Singles, and 18 in Doubles (9 teams). We had power ranked members of the past, present, and future in attendance. We had a few gnarly upsets, some close games, and some not-so-close sets. That's the name of the game 🤷‍♂️

Quality competition in the right environment brings out the best in us; we got to see some of that on Sunday. & For that, I thank you.

Last night's tourney got a small turnout, so I adapted and ran a "round robin" with best 3 out of 5 sets so that we all got the most experience possible. The winner was Jojo, with Tarrasque in close 2nd!

Saw some dynamic games, try-hard games, close games, and no-f**ks-given games. Definitely kept it interesting. Find results at: smash.gg/mb40

Reminder that there is no Monsters Brawl next time (4/19) OR Overtime on 4/17 because I will be out of the country. On for this upcoming Sunday though!

Yesterday's Overtime was lit! 13 entrants. 4 teams. 3 new overtimers (shoutout to freakinboring for his PR win!). New at-home-esque gaming setup at the venue. Seems the venue is leveling up as much as we are 💪

Overtime 32 was a success! Congrats to Dumble Dee for winning Arcadian (13 entrants) & Owen for taking the cake in Singles (16 entrants).
