two weeks late, but finally taking time to put words to feelings after some introspection & contemplation. Being a small business owner & being invited into peoples homes for weddings & anniversaries, for sympathy & thinking of you’s, & for the ‘I just want to brighten their day’s’ is truly my life’s biggest blessing. It’s so humbling to be able to serve & to bring a little joy to people—I’m eternally grateful for this tiny little corner of the world I get to play in. Wondering why your flowers came packed in a lentil box? Let’s discuss: Everyone’s version of “sustainable” and “reduce, reuse, recycle” is different. For me I’d rather give boxes & newspaper already in my home a second life instead of purchasing new from large corporations. Same goes for tissue. Instead of bleached tissue you’ll find old copies of the Wall Street Journal. Did your flowers come in a bag instead? That bag is made from 100% recycled materials. The support on the bottom? Cardboard from the boxes the flowers came in ✨ It’s not much, but it’s a small step towards eliminating waste in the floral industry & being a bit more sustainable. @ Minneapolis, Minnesota
