BURRRRRR!!!! It's so cold on the Farm today ya'll! The ice buckets were frozen solid and I made the dumb mistake of not taking the hoses off the hose bibs which meant lugging water from a bit farther away.... our new in ground auto watering system just past the first winter test! NOT frozen! I've applied for another grant to get more of these. I can't tell you how important it is for the animals to have a constant supply of fresh water and keeping troughs & buckets clean & full in the summer and not iced over and full in the winter is daunting... it's not the work of it so much as always working about it.

We just had A&A Hvac here yesterday checking all of our systems if your looking for a good local service provider they are very thorough and have taken great care of us!

We are re-stocking our inventory. Many local farmers completely ran out of everything which is really good news because that means more of you than ever before made the extra trip to shop local!

We have plenty of pork, beef, pot pies and are restocking on milk, yogurt, eggs et cet. We've got plenty of soups, pasta and marinara, gingerbread slabs are back in stock!

We are offering a build your own wooden gift box with recycled paper nest so you can make a cool gift of all locally sourced items. The trend of buying food and meats has continued and a lot of folks seem to really appreciate that. We also have Story Hill Gift Certificates to spend in store as we did last year!

Hope you're all staying toasty today, but it's a little slow and that's no fun at all so crank up the heater in your car, put on your mittens and come get a pot pie and some Tammy's pickles and give the animals a little bit of attention!

A week to go... until one of THE BEST daggone days of the year, if you ask me!!!! Even if you can't believe the holidays are already here... might as well, "just go with the flow at this point!"

We are well stocked up! We have farm fresh heavy cream and cream, A2 milk, lots of eggs, Ugly Pie and Quiches. Gingerbread Slabs, Asher's Chocolates just delivered and all the other goodies you know and love!

Our Turkeys and our hams have sold out at this point but we do have a fantastic selection of heritage pastured non-gmo local beef pork, and chicken.

We are here and open our usual 9 to 5pm today through Sunday. We will have some special hours and be open on Tuesday 11/21 from 10am to Noon for pre-order Ugly Pie and Turkey pickups, so if you sneak on in...(hint, hint) the gate will be open and we certainly won't say no!

All you have to do is order by 4pm on November 11th, or until they hit their cap and VERY IMPORTANT you MUST tell them you are PICKING IT UP at SHF! Bc you most likely don't want to forget to say that and then have to drive down to Salisbury!

Lawdy, Lawdy gracious OH MY IT's HOT! Ya'll
We're working hard keeping all of our animals watered and too for school in the shade! Good news for YOU is it's on about 5 steps from your air conditioned car to our air conditioned store... so come on by!

Honey is a great natural way to fight off the seasonal allergies, so come on it and stock up on Big Joe's Honey. If you have tried creamed honey it's great spreadable version of honey, still a single ingredient it's just whipped to get a creamy consistency.
We are fully stocked with UGLY PIE, our very own eggs, and heritage pork & beef and local beef. Dairy fresh in yesterday so we've got chocolate milk, milk, yogurt, cheese and butter. Cheese curds... and all the other goodies you know us for!

Guess What Ya'll? We are FULLY STOCKED with the local grass fed beef everyone loves and we have a little announcement to make... we our proud to introduce the first cuts and ground beef from our very own special heritage breed Randall beef in the store.

It's a really remarkable first step to get to the point in just three years starting with three cows! We are going to have more of the Randall meat again in September and we're planning a little in store celebration for when that arrives, so details to follow!

Meanwhile, our little local neighborhood farm store and our achievements wouldn't be possible without your support! The weather is gorgeous so come and see us! We are fully stocked on all the things you know us for and are always adding new things.

U-pick flowers is still open during store hours, with U-pick herbs in our all edible garden by appointment. We've got a beautiful local red peppers, Agape ice cream, a full dairy case, pot pies if you don't feel much like cooking, as well as 302 aquaponics lettuce and plenty of basil. Hello EVERYONE! It's BEYOND gorgeous out and from what I've heard the roads are a little bit better out there!!!

We are ALL set on bags for awhile (thanks for sharing those!)

What we could use HELP is if everyone stocked up on some GROUND BEEF! Shopping local meats from local farmers is DIFFERENT than the store!!! We get ground beef each and every time we get a COW! So, it's on ALL of US, who love all of our prime cuts to do our part and honor these animals NOSE to Tail!

Dear Everyone! Good news... We're BACK in the BACON!!!
& Porkchops & Scrapple... and STEAKS!

Thank you for being so patient! (sort of... lol) Nah! We can't thank you enough for being so enthusiastic about our hand raised heritage breed pork and our local grass fed beef. All the cuts you love are ready set and waiting for ya!

We got 4 hogs back from the butcher shop yesterday and we got received beef the day before! So, please stop in and stock up while it lasts and that's not marketing!

We are enjoying everyone that has come out to pick flowers and this hot weather and rain has been just perfect for them!

The Zinnia U-pick is going strong so come on out and pick from 9am to 5pm W to Sunday. We have gotten a really great large vase like cup $12, jars $15 and a paper bucket $20 and have plenty of scissors on hand. You're also welcome to bring your own container. We have fabric, tissue paper and ribbon to jazz up your for $2. It's super fun so come on by and enjoy some time on the farm! Don't have time to pick them yourself? Oh Lawdy, Oh, My.. it's HOT, HOT, HOT!
Wouldn't you know it! Right when we were so doggone excited to launch this brand new U-PICK Heirloom Zinnia patch...

Well, that's okay... because these flowers actually LOVE the heat, and the butterflies are FINALLY arriving!!! Yippee!

We are officially open for the Heirloom Zinnia U-PICK during our open store hours from Wed to Sunday from 9am to 5pm for as long as they last!

Our beautiful stand of heirloom Zinnias runs from the first fence all the way up to the hoop house and contains over 30 different varieties. It's a sight to behold and unlike our big wildflower meadows, easy peasy sunshine breezy... you can park at the farm store and stroll right over!

If anyone needs to park closer for special access, or heat concerns as always we are happy to accommodate everyone! Before 10am and after 4pm recommended until this heat advisory passes.

Feel free to bring your own container and scissors. We have finally sourced some non-plastic containers and scissors for you to use, as well as some tissue paper and ribbons in the store to jazz things up a bit if your looking for a gift!

If you're not into flower picking, we can make you an arrangement just give us a shout. We have a few AMAZING humans in town who take flowers home on Friday nights! Hint! Hint!

YUP! IT'S HOT!!! These are the steamy lazy July days we all dream of in January! The sky is blue, the sun is shining the birds are singing the flowers are blooming and we've worked really hard to stock our little local farm shop with ALL the GOODIES you love us for! SO, come on over to the farm...

We could REALLY USE BAGS... now that we are at the Bethany Farmers Market we've been wiped out! So many of you are kind enough to save those up and share them with us... and that would help out a lot!

We have a full dairy case and are expecting to get our very first shipment of AGAPE ICE CREAM in on Thursday! So, while we are waiting for the Ugly Pie gals to finish their renovations on their new shop that will be a nice treat for us all! Lots of Asher's chocolate in as well!

We've got lots of new goodies to try.... Bacon Jam seems to be all the rage right now... and we've got a lot of condiments that have a bacon component!

The coming celebration of our countries birthday has me feeling grateful and appreciative... for YOU! Those of you who make the effort to come out once a week and shop not just Story Hill Farm but ALL of our local farm stands, and Mom and Pop shops! THAT IS what makes the difference! That's ALL it really takes, it's why we work hard own the cars we have right? It's kind of a privilege isn't it? To live in the land of plenty and have so many choices? When you make the effort and go out of your way to visit all the local shops first and the grocery store last you ARE supporting local farmers, growers, producers and makers!

When you commit to doing that regularly YOU are growing all of our American Dreams and together we shape the kind of community we all want to live in!

Father's Day is this weekend time to stock up!

Story Hill Farm is worth the trip rain or shine! Don't let the clouds keep you away! We've got a beautiful mix of heritage chicks out on the lawn for you to take a look at! They will lay some beautiful eggs in blue and olive and brown! They are adorable! We also have some Heritage Breed Royal Palm Turkey Poults, as they are called, also out on the lawn for you to take a look at!

We are fully stocked with our local livestock feed and seed!

We are fully stocked in the store all weekend with ALL of your favorites!

LOCAL non-gmo natural heritage EGGS in a rainbow of colors! Grass fed beef, our very own hand raised heritage pork, with some half and whole shares still available if you want to fill your summer freezer! Fat Cat Farms Sourdough bread, full Dairy case... A2 A2 low pasteurized, non-homogenized creamline milk, chocolate milk, butter! Local cheese, cheese curds. Honey & Bee Pollen! Some new fruit sodas and I'm not sure where all the chocolate went.... (wasn't me) but we are restocked on all the Asher's sweets we all love!

Come see us and if you've not been in in a while remember that extra trip out supports over 60 local families who are trying to make a go of it! Considering how expensive the grocery stores and Amazon are getting there's really no reason not to come out to the farm, stretch your legs, get a little peace and quiet visit the animals! A friend reminded me recently about the true meaning of Memorial Day and it's TO REMEMBER! Yes, the windshield is bigger than the rearview, but all the parts of the truck work together to make the whole! Tapping the brakes to look at where we've been, make amends, repair past wrongs and honor the sacrifice is how we can stay focused in the moment and accelerate ahead to a bright future! (No texting and driving ya'll!)

We can and should enjoy ourselves this weekend, spending time with family and friends maybe even eating some of the Story Hill Farm beef that will we will stock in for you on Friday, but as we continue to support local and build our own community to "be the place we all want to live" let's remember and not forget, never forget to pause and remember that it will be a much different weekend for those missing a loved whose active or worse missing those who won't be coming home.
