I can check off “can withstand gale force winds” for my arbor installation skills now. 😂

My cousin’s wedding was the windiest, romantically charged, and most memorable of days. I hardly took any photos at the venue. Especially after the ladder hit me in the head and cracked my phone screen. 😅 But the quiet moments of designing her bouquet with my parents and husband at the Airbnb… what a gift.

Shoutout to my dad for driving me around in the golf cart in the rain. 👏🏽

Weather be damned! I’m just in my sunny lil head thinking about all the seeds in my order for this coming year. ☀️

I’m ready to be raking in armfuls of beauty AND I’m very excited about some collaborative photo shoots I have planned. Installation gigs are on the horizon. And working with some insanely talented photographers has my heart in full swoon.

Blooms should be booming in May. I have months to wait… but I am already so hyped. 🙈

Seed planning for 2023 has officially been completed! 🌻 I already feel so ahead compared to my 2 previous years of growing… I’m so grateful for this slow time in winter months.

It’s been a simply beautiful morning. Full of joy, ease, many and aesthetics. Ogling at varietals of dahlias, sunflowers, and sweet peas for hours has been such a treat.

Special thanks to the snarky goddess for the best vessel for hot bean juice. ☕️

Hawt damn I love doing dried bridal bouquets! 🥂

These piece was for a dear friend with a lovely celestial theme. It was big, with lots of movement despite being crafted with with stiff, dry stems. Absolutely kicking myself for not taking a reel of it when it was completed. 🤦🏽‍♀️😐

I’ll be a little quieter on this page, as I move into the winter months and switch gears over to my maker shenanigans .scavenger until spring.

But stay tuned! I will have dried flowers, tutorials, and a romantic winter wedding coming too. 💛

I’m incredibly jazzed… the most ✨textured ✨ time of the year has arrived! Tutorials, wreathes, an insatiably romantic winter wedding, and oodles of play are coming to my garage space. (So stoked.)

I grew a sweet pie pumpkin called Cinnamon Girl. She is so cuuuute and I’ve admittedly been bitten by a gourd bug. 😬Soooo I can’t wait to try to grow all kinds of news varieties for next year.

Frost has nipped a few sections of the garden, but I’m expecting all the plants to be down for the count by next week.

The ✨ new ✨ tulips for 2023 season are in tucked into the dirt and I’ll be sowing the cold hardies next week.

Stay tuned for some eco-printing content (and pumpkins 🎃 !! ) before I dive fully into the dried flower styles. ✌🏽

Early October 💐 is shades of pink this year.

I’m all outta water, so I’m really just waiting on the cold weather to come in. Still enjoying the freshies, but dang they are getting t.h.i.r.s.t.y. Just dahlias, marigolds, and cosmos left at the party. 🤷🏼‍♀️
My bulb order was delivered today and I’m stoked to get down in the dirt to plant for next year!

Finally. October. 👻🥂 🙌🏽

I’m truly on the tail end of the 2022 season, as I peep the temps next week. Looking at frost next weekend, and my garden is r e a d y for a very cold nap time. And honestly I’m ready for the hard work of putting the garden and my many many volunteer-plants (weeds) to bed! 😬 I’ve got my 2023 bulbs ordered and my fall sown seeds picked out.

A box of September 💛🍻🥂✨ 🌻

As of last Wednesday, the water for the garden has been set to “winter” mode. 😬 Meaning the mighty beings in charge have shut off the water for the growing season. So I’m at a tentative wrap for freshies for 2022! Looking for a little rain to extend the season a bit, but it’s been quite a year so far.

Edging into the end of the floral season here. 🌻 Excuse the squinty eyes, the sun came out from behind the smoke for the first time in a week. 😂

The garden is really ready for a looooong and chilly nap. (The weeds too.) And I’m ready to get to work on prepping for next year. 🛠

I learned so much about growing this season. Both in the garden and beyond, I have been re-taught by a plethora of newness. New ways of working, doing, being. I was taught (very heavily handed) by things I didn’t think about enough. Things I thought about too much. And I walk away from this 2022 season humbled and totally aware that I don’t know a w.h.o.l.e. bunch of things.
Last year I would have been embarrassed about that. This year, I find it exciting. I have a lot more experience to lean on for the next time, next season, next new thing. And it will be better next time. I can’t wait for next time. 🍻

On a whim, I decided to try my hand at a floral armband for my wedding next week. I made a this one as a gift for my bride-to-be client and it is TOO cute.

Okay friends- I’m doing the thaaaang. I’ve officially picked my first handful of ranunculus + anemones.

This year so far has been such a steep learning curve that I forgot how much reward could come. Growing flowers this year is a very clunky hurdle for me. Super clunk, even. I’m gratified even by just the wee bit of knowledge I have under belt. I’ve gained a lot of humble tidbits, kinda the hard way. And that’s okay! Learning the hard way is an incredibly thorough way to be taught. (And boy oh boy I have been taught some things in 2022.) The flowers for this round of learning are simply a bonus for me now.
But wowza, what a bonus! 👀 🔥

I’m definitely craving an orange creamsicle…. 👀 After seeing these dreamy tones in the greenhouse, it’s pretty much all I can think about.

These (my first) ranunculus have me swooning… utterly. They’ve absolutely claimed a big bit of my heart. Probably helps that they’re the BEST color! 🤷🏼‍♀️ I will be doing a zillion more next year in this color again. Cuz I mean… just look at them 😭

Season 2 of flower farming is already wrought with a lot of hard lessons for me 😅

The deer have made a mortal enemy.
And I could throw hands at spring for being so volatile. 🤬

Despite some hair-tearing and steep learning moments, I have my first handful of flowers for the year AND my first ever heirloom narcissus. It’s an itty bitty victory but I mean… look how lovely 🥺 I want a million more.

These lil babes were inherited from my father’s garden. I can’t wait to see what colors they give me in a couple months. *fingers crossed for magic*

It’s a whole 28 degrees outside. 🤷🏼‍♀️ And my ranunculus are (luckily) hanging out in trays, rather than the garden.

I’m cackling about my procrastination this year, because it *actually* served me quite well.

I’ll be checking the lilies & tulips tomorrow morning for their survival… fingers crossed 🤞🏼 that this lil snap didn’t claim them. But either way, I’ll be starting my next batch/replacement flower seeds next week. 💐
