Day 4, left Amsterdam and took a train to Paris. Only 3.5 hrs. Met Marie our host at our airbnb. Gorgeous apartment. Art collector and book author. Took an uber to the Eiffel tower and took a one hr. boat ride on the Seine River. Sarah loved it! Lauren found a cafe for dinner and the most basic meal cost over $200 euros. Sun sets after 10 pm so we’ve been out until at least 11 pm each night. Tomorrow the Louvre!

Surprised at how different this Amsterdam trip felt vs. the one we took 5 years ago.

Amsterdam day 3:
Started the day at the Van Gogh museum. Sarah was not interested in walking around so I took the audio tour and listened to every painting’s description on line. Learned a lot. Took a pedicab with the girls and they laughed the entire way because of all the bumps. After a siesta we ventured out and found some thrift shopping for Lauren. Lauren is scoring souvenirs. Ate at an Indian restaurant. Again it was mediocre at best. Sarah’s favorite has most definitely been the canal boat rides. Everytime we cross a canal it’s “I like boat!” “I like this one.”Tomorrow Paris!

Arrived in Amsterdam.
United flight where it seemed everybody was asking asking everybody to switch seats. Watched 4 movies: The Fabelmans, A man called Otto, The Whale and She said. All great movies worth watching. Sarah puked twice on the plane, me included nice. Beautiful boat ride after checking into our houseboat.on the water. Another item checked off my bucket list.
Had dinner at a mediocre at best Italian restaurant where we were sharing with Lauren our itinerary for the next day. We shared how we’ll be touring the countryside, We nd mills and might even try some other unpasteurized milk to which Lauren asks “ “Unpasteurized, does that mean the cows don’t eat in a pasture?”
Lauren: weren’t you just telling me you heard Europeans think Americans aren’t very bright?
