Do you have a winter wedding scheduled? DON’T SKIP THIS POST ❄️☃️ If you have booked a winter wedding, you’re probably in for a magical winter wonderland. But you’re also in for cold weather & early sunsets. Here are a few of our tips for a great wedding film even when it’s freezing cold out: 1. If you can, try to opt for an earlier wedding time in order to make the best use of daylight. 2. Make sure your venue has great lighting. Since day light is limited, ensuring your venue has great lighting will make for the best wedding film. 3. Opt for long sleeves where you can and if your dream dress doesn’t include sleeves, make sure your MOH packs a sweater or a shawl. Capturing outdoor shots is essential to encapsulate the wintery feel, so make sure you can stay nice and warm in between shots. So, should you do a first look? 👀 First looks have become increasingly popular and here is our two cents on how to decide whether it’s right for you: 1. Are you more traditional or non-traditional? First looks are new and definitely break the “traditional” part of a groom only seeing the bride at the altar. Decide if you want more of a traditional wedding or if you are ready to step out of tradition and make it more your own! 2. What are your expectations with a first look? Some couples like to get it out of way so they are not uncomfortable at the altar, some want to share that experience privately with each other first. Try to understand your personal expectations for a first look. 3. Want to do a first look and still keep the surprise for your groom? If you’re not fully on board with a first look with your soon to be husband, you can get creative!! You can do a first look with your parents, siblings, bridesmaids, groomsmen, grandparents! What our filming process looks like 🎥 Wedding films are the essence of a couple caught in action and our entire filming process relies on making sure your true essence is showing up. First we start off with understanding your needs as a couple (usually from the package you select). Next we understand the space we are in, the lighting we have available and placement for our team to ensure we are capturing the all the best angles. We work as a team to make sure all the requested shots are being captured while also working with the couple to make sure we are capturing natural moments that showcase their love. Voiceovers and interviews are also conducted in order to truly bring the wedding film to life. We always provide direction for couples who might need it. All in all, your film should truly depict your excitement & passion for each other and you can get a glimpse of how we bring that to life by viewing some of our wedding films. Analyze their style: each filmmaker has their own unique style and you can get a grasp of that from their current films. Follow them on social media to get a variety of different style options and see which one you love most! Get the perfect package for you: getting quotes from different filmmakers is perfect so you can make sure you are getting exactly what you need and make sure it’s in your budget. Make sure you are comfortable with them: remember, your filmmaker will be capturing your essence! Make sure you feel relaxed and comfortable around them. Go down memory lane and think about unique moments that are special to both of you  2. Share your genuine authentic & feelings about the day and your future together.  3. Shed a light on your hopes for the future and what you are most thankful for about your significant other  4. How to feel comfortable in your wedding video ✨ 1. Get to know your videographer beforehand. Follow your videographer on social, book a consultation with them and see if you’re a good fit. If they can make you feel comfortable on the call, it’ll be easier to feel comfortable on the day of! 2. Focus on your bride/groom: if you spend too much time focusing on what you look like, it’ll take away from the authentic moments we capture when they appear naturally. Be present and in the moment! 3. Enjoy yourself: pretend like no one is watching (seriously!) let the magic of your wedding day get the best of you! We promise we’re only capturing the moments where you’re authentically you! 4. Practice beforehand if you need to: if you’re really nervous about specific shots, practice in the mirror before the big day.
