A Chat GPT roast. I honestly couldnāt be more honored š
1. Blunt.
2. On point.
3. Constructive.
4. Subtly encouraging.
Highlight: being called āBroā.
Thank you, AI for leaving me feeling hopeful and concerned all at the same time š

Happy anniversary to two of the best people I know! I canāt believe this was 2 years agoā¦feels like yesterday.
These two really let me get creative and got creative WITH ME. A literal dream.
Just waiting for the next cemetery elopementā¦:)

These two got their gallery last weekend and I am so in love with their portraits. From the greenhouse to the sunset photos, it really felt like nature was showing off. Iām always honored when couples choose me to document their day, and I always have the sweetest clients.
Amber and Ben, you are both so kind. Thank you for having me as a part of your day, it was gorgeous.

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY!! Lauren and Matthew, I cannot believe itās been an entire year.
If I could go back to this whole weekend, I would. I love you two so much, and Iām not at all jealous that you took an anniversary trip to Portugal. Totally fine with it.
Hereās to an iconic couple š„

āØHAPPY ANNI āØ to two of the most gorgeous and amazing women. Ever.
Rachel and Tiffany, your day was one of the best, and I hope that the years to come are as crazy, beautiful, joyful, and intentional as you two.

Thank you, Jewish Scene Magazine for sharing Baylee and Monteās photos! This was such a fun day :)

I donāt know who needs to hear this, but being yourself is one of the two most successful ways to get photos that you love out of your session.
The other way? Trusting your photographer and being clear about what you want.
We are a team. I want to capture YOU. Not you pretending to be other people youāve seen in my photos.
The hardest part of being in front of the camera is letting go and being yourself. I know that. So here I am, encouraging you to chill the eff out, and let me capture who you are.

I cannot imagine a more beautiful person. I really cannot. Iām sorting through Kaveri and Mitchellās wedding photos from June and the beauty in every single photoā has nothing to do with me and is everything that is Kaveri and Mitchell.
Beautiful people quite literally inside and out. I love these photos of Kaveri during her time getting ready. Her Rajasthani saree the softest and deepest shades of purple. I loved witnessing her momās attention to detail, the laughs amongst cousins and childhood friends. It was so damn sweet.
Kaveri and I were fast friends and I so cherished documenting this for her. A person full of joy and the sweetest spirit.
I canāt wait to share more from this amazing fusion wedding in Louisvilleā wishing with all my heart we could go back and relive it.

Iām not a regular poster for Mothers and Fathers Day. Both of these days come with mixed emotions, conflicted feelings, and complicated stories. Some people are celebrating, others are mourning, and some of us just donāt have an example of what we are missing.
This photo of Anna and her dad is one of my favorite photos in a gallery. We purposefully caught this moment to recreate the photo of her mother and grandfather on the second slide. And I love it. This is the goal. That look, on both of them.
There are good dads out there. Sometimes we have to borrow one, or fill the gaps with other healthy relationships. But they are there. And itās always overwhelming to me when I get to witness a good dad.
So thank you, and Happy Fathers Day to the biological dads, the adopted dads, the ones who step in to fill the gap, the ones who play both roles, and the ones fighting to heal relationships with their kids. We do need you.
And if today is hard, know that I see you. And Iām with you. And I believe that there are people out there to fill the gap for you; to love you and support as if you came from their own bloodstream.
We need good dads. And Iām really grateful to witness lots of them.

10/10 recommend portraits in the Greenhouse at the Memphis Botanic Garden. No questions asked :)
I have so much to share from my back to back weddings this last weekendā so excited for these photos.
Congratulations, Amber and Ben :) š„

I almost NEVER remember to post on a wedding dayā¦2024 is my year of change :)
SO excited to be back at the Dixon to capture Sarah and Carlvinās wedding. Itās going to be a beautiful day, and Iām never mad about a garden wedding.
Letās go guys!

I just want to say that I 100% support making out in an alley.

Hey, you can get married in your living room and then go take portraits in a greenhouse. Itās perfectly okay and perfectly you.
Just wanted to remind you of that. You can do anything you want :)

Jerryās Sno Cones. A Memphis staple. So, so sad to see the old location close. But I am SO glad that Caroline and Neil had their post elopement party with their family, closest friends, and of courseā¦the Wedding Cake Sno cone.
This is proof that you need to do what you want to WHEN you want to. You never know when your favorite spots will move on, change, or just become a really special memory.
ALSO- A Wedding Cake Sno cone should be on so many elopement/wedding to-do lists. Like itās not a joke š§
16/05/2024
I cannot even begin to describe how much I love a weekday elopement. 4 hours running around downtown, touching on all of your favorite spots. Exploring side streets and different textures, trying things just to see how they turn out.
ā¦Finding old garage doors that end up being a total glam spot :)
An opinion that should be popular: get married on a week day and go to all of your favorite spots. Take your best friends with you. Grab a drink with your photographer (hi :)), pop champagne on a rooftop and then make the commitment by the river. Do it all. And do it how YOU would do it.
My Wednesdays are wide openā¦

Regan + David ft. Earnestine + Hazels.
If every session had a pit stop at this Memphis staple, I wouldnāt be mad. Eerie even with the sun out :)
I always ask my couples if they have favorite spots theyād like to do photosā and I mean it! Tell me. We had the best time at E & H.
Please, someone to wedding portraits here and invite me?

HOT TAKE: Senior portraits (or portraits of any kind) donāt have to be boring. They donāt have to look like everyone elseās.
Nadiaās senior portraits were almost two years ago and Iām still obsessed with what we did. They are in college now, thriving, but these still remind me of who Nadia is and how creative and set apart they are.
Step into your own. And come find me if the cap and gown bore you :)

It's possible that when I say "get married in a cemetery", you're thinking I don't actually mean that. No no...I do :)
Cemetery portraits are STUNNING. And I say go for it. It's not everyone's vibe (it's mine, but we aren't talking about me), but if it's yours...here's your sign.
I remember when Paige and Michael's wedding plans changed drastically, and I asked her where she would get married if she could get married anywhere. Elmwood Cemetery was the spot. And the rest is history. No regrets :)
You've seen photos of the chapel floating around on the grid, but I just love these portraits we did. And I can't wait to do more.

You've found yourself living in the South. But in no way interested in the Southern wedding we are all supposed to be dreaming aboutā¦
For the people who want to elope at a cemetery, and then have their portraits and reception at a speakeasy, I hope that this is the last stop you make when you're looking for a photographer. Encouraging you to do what YOU want is easiest part of my job. Creating photos with you, that no one else has, that's where the friendship is. That's where the trust is. And that's where we thrive.
If you could do it any way you wanted to, what would you do? Let's get wild with it š

You thought I was done sharing these portraits of Lauren and Matthew in Chicago's Union Station...lol. Never.
Something I really love about wedding portraits, is that so many of my couples come to me scared of being in front of the camera, not sure what to do with their hands, face, all of the above. Let me just say this: IT DOESN'T MATTER. I have GOT you. More than you know. You'll get your gallery and feel like a total model. You'll see the beauty I got to witness all damn day. And you'll remember exactly how you felt in each photo.
If I was a wallpaper person, I'd wallpaper a gallery wall in my house with these photos. That's how much I love them. AND how much I love Lauren and Matthew.

Veil shenanigans. I'm always in love with a veil that has a mind of its own.

The FISCH :)
I am almost done with Sophie + Cullenās gallery, but canāt help sharing these. In Jewish weddings, one of the traditional events is a Tisch for the Groom, where a wedding drink is shared with all of his close male friends and his family. Itās a pre-wedding celebration for him.
Before Sophieās wedding, her best friend Bailey got hitched and chose to create her own Female Tisch, or, a Fisch :) These images from Sophieās Fisch are some of my favorite photos from a pre wedding event. The friendships these ladies have is truly the goal.
They shared stories, encouragement, prayers, hopes, promises, and uttered some of the most beautiful feelings between friends.
Itās these moments that are captured that give me so much energy and hope. We all need friends like this.

JP + Megan ā¢ Pt 1.
We got rained out during JP and Meganās engagement session a few weeks ago, so itās only fitting to post in two parts :) I love a casual start to an engagement shoot, and these two were down for just about anything.
More silent disco, drunk walking, and laughing until we hurt šæ

A full term maternity shoot is in my top 5 absolute favorite sessions. Iāve said it before, womenās bodies are WILD. We can do ANYTHING. And I love capturing this superpower of carrying a tiny human.
I LOVE maternity bo***ir. Its truly an honor to shoot. Making space for moms to feel safe and beautiful in their changing bodies is something I always cherish. Every time I get to document a full term pregnancy I am just so honored and excited :)

I know Memphians are used to this bridge, but I think this shot deserves its own spot on the grid. I think this is one of my favorite shots to grab at ā„ļø
The cherry blossoms were working hard for me :)

Family :) My absolute favorite thing about family photos, is that they are about 98% completely candid. Couple formals? Sure thing. And then we let loose.
We play games.
We laugh until our guts hurt.
We run around, tackle, bear hug.
If one of us happens to be a model child (Miles on slide 4, geez), then so be it :)
I'm so ready for more family photos! Find the link in my bio and let's make some wild memories :)

Have produce bag, will photo. Nadia was so trusting to let me show up to her shoot with a veggie bag on my camera š Just grab a thin produce bag you would have thrown out, rip it up a little, and as long as you can focus on your subject, youāre good to go! #getcreative #moodyportraits #memphisphotographer #unconventional
I think the reason why I love photography, is because I love holding onto memories. And I want to give that to other people. So much life happens around usā I canāt believe I get to capture even just a little bit of it. Thank you to every single person who has let me in. šæ #whywedowhatwedo

Pervis Payne has spent over three decades on Death Row for a crime he did not commit, and it is time that he comes home. The fight is not over, the work is nowhere near done. But the movement is growing and I am in awe of the Payne family and their power. āStrengthā isnāt a deep enough word anymore. And itās these people, and people like my friend Pervis, who will inherit so much in the Kingdom. There is still the possibility of an execution date for him, so we need all the help we can get. Please text FreePervis to 97016 to sign the petition. It matters. #freepervispayne
