This family has been in my life for many years, and I’ve watched as it blended with another and doubled in size! For this year’s family shoot we ventured to Boulder Flower Farm, who kindly hosted us, and was in peak form. The peonies were especially glorious, as you can see. Britney and Scotty contacted me from their home state of Texas, hoping for a winter elopement in the mountains near Boulder. They found a fabulous AirBnB called the Dory Lake Chalet and scheduled for mid-March, knowing it’s the snowiest month in Colorado. What they didn’t know was that their elopement would fall at the beginning of one of the biggest snowstorms to hit that area in decades! The snow had just started when Annah and I arrived, and it didn’t stop until four feet later. Yes, I said feet 😉 Annah and I got out of there just in time, but Scotty, Britney and Britney’s sister Brooks were trapped for a little longer than they expected. Be careful what you wish for!⁠

For Trevor and Stephany, this Chautauqua elopement was two long years in the making, and a quick two weeks in the planning! Rarely have I seen two young people so madly in love, so emotional during their ceremony, so overwhelmed with raw feelings. In this winter season, it was a lovely reminder of why I love elopements so much, and how special these moments are to capture. Thank you Trevor and Stephany for asking me to capture these images for you.

In the few short years that my mom and dad got to spend together in Colorado, they loved to sneak away to Farow Restaurant for special date nights. It was their secret little spot together. Only once did they take me and my brother, because they wanted to keep it all to themselves. So, you can imagine how excited I was when Elorie asked me to photograph Farow owners Patrick and Lisa for The Scout Guide.⁠

For this shoot, they did a little site visit where much of their meat is sourced. It was such a treat to play in the fields with the sheep and the hilarious pigs, and what a gorgeous piece of land. About 90% of the ingredients used by Farow come from within a 10-mile radius of the restaurant.⁠
