Cordelia and Scott, just engaged! These two wanted to have their engagement shoot done right away, but it was so, so cold. Cordelia’s mom had the idea to shoot at a garden and plant center, and the lovely folks at Terracotta Boulder kindly let us use our space after hours. Brilliant and absolute perfection. Courtney and Ben - childhood friends who have known each other since they were 11 and fell in love during their time in college. The sweetest! Also a reminder that:
A) yes we can have a darling engagement shoot in the winter!
B) posing is easy if you focus on each other and not me. That is why I don’t like to overdirect. I want you to focus on each other and pretend I’m not even there. Just like Courtney and Ben. Be happy and in love, that is all you need to be!

Kara and Josh came to me through Kara’s brother Erik, whose wedding to Sarah I shot last summer (remember the tornado wedding)? So of course I was thrilled, I love to shoot weddings when I have already gotten to know the families, it makes everything that much more special.
These two were getting married in late fall at Black Cat Farm, which could have been a risky move weather-wise, but turned out to be the last beautiful day before the weather turned and the leaves fell, and so it seemed meant to be.
Their micro-wedding was perfectly intimate, with just close family and a handful of friends, and emotional in the way that only tiny weddings can be. I think just about every person cried at some point, including me!
Sarah from Delilah Events orchestrated a perfect day for them, and the farm-to-table food at Black Cat was perhaps the best wedding meal I’ve ever tasted.
This family took their look to a whole new level for their mini session, and I am in love!
