I've chocolated again. These giant "frogs" have pecans, cashews, almonds covered in caramel then covered in French chocolate. They're all wrapped for gifting and waiting for you at the Maker's Fair this Sunday afternoon!

In no particular order, here are some bouqs from the 2023 season. Now that I'm rested from the growing season, I'm missing the flowers and the "chores." I can't wait to get going again. 2024 hardy annuals are already planted and tucked in for their winter sleep. Tulips are planted. Dahlias...well I'm not exactly done digging and storing tubers but close! Next step: lisianthus seeds get started after Christmas. I miss my garden...

It's cocoa bomb season! This year, I'm using Guittard fair trade couverture dark chocolate for the shell and Callebaut Belgian cocoa inside. We'll also have assorted handmade chocolate candies. Pumpkin arrangements at Chillicothe Farmers Market this Saturday 8-noon! 👻🎃

Arrangements are banded for easy removal and a plastic liner makes water changes easy.

For the freshest and most unique pumpkins, check out Way Farms in Waverly and The Farmstead Market in Circleville . So many super cool pumpkins in all shapes, sizes, and colors; I'm partial to the warty ones.

It's full lisianthus season. I plant different grouped varieties that are supposed to bloom in sequence and extend my harvest window. But they're all popping at once 😂 💐

The 'Hairy Balls' are in full flower. I should be harvesting pods very soon...and boring you all with my same old jokes. Yay for middle school humor! It's 'Hairy Balls' season! All jokes aside, the pretty lime green pods dry beautifully and hold shape and color for about a year.

Head on down to the Pike County Fair Flower Show going on this afternoon.

I've been saving the last of the garlic scapes from Way Farms . I peeled the outer layer off some of them and they have the most beautiful little pearls inside. I can't wait to use them again next season.

These yummy snaps will be featured in this week's edible bouquets along with oregano, mint, sage, anise hyssop.

Pluck the snapdragon flowers and pop 'em in your salad or freeze them in ice cubes for pretty cocktails. They taste like butter lettuce with a touch of sweetness. The herbs can be enjoyed fresh for up to 5 days. Dry any leftovers.

I can't recommend dried snapdragons though. They're not very pretty and taste like nothing at all but with an aftertaste. 0 out of 5 stars.

Today is the anniversary of bringing Carmen home from the shelter. She was with us for 15 years before she died. This picture perfectly captures her personality. Shameless food thief. I've never met a dog as smart as Carmen was. She was gentle. She was loving. She was a devious handful too. I miss you beloved. I'm so grateful I had the privilege to know you.

Prickly pear is flowering! I potted it up for tomorrow's Chillicothe Farmer's Market. This plant is a tough as nails perennial. Handles our Ohio winters like a champ. Plant it in sun and forget it. Requires ZERO fussing. The fruit makes delicious jam too.

I had some fun with this bouq. It's definitely not going to be for everyone. But I loved letting loose and making a weird one! The garlic scapes are from . The wheat is from . I grew the Asclepius, baptisia pod, bupleurum, yarrow, eryngium, coriopsis, sweet william.
