Providing a mockup helps align expectations between me and my client. It ensures that both parties are on the same page regarding design, functionality, and overall project goals. It also prevents any misunderstandings later on and overall builds trust with my clients, which is something I value as a balloon artist 🤍
It's FRI-YAY! 💃🏽💃🏽💃🏽
I hope you started your day with a good laugh, keep hustling and working hard on those goals!! Do what you need to do to keep your spirits lifted when times get tough but whatever you do, DONT give up!
I love when clients know what they want and sometimes you just have to remind them why they should book YOUR services. Remember if they are reaching out to you it's because they already love your work, so what can you do help close the deal? 🤔
For those of you who are friends with me on my personal account know the struggles of having more children, and those of you who don’t well unfortunately now you know. With that being said I’m going to do something different with all baby showers from here on out. Whatever your total cost [for the backdrop only] I’m going to give a 50% discount. I felt it in my heart to do something as a small gesture to help out expecting mothers to make this transition period in your life a little easier.
🤔Ever wondered about the time investment behind creating the perfect event setup?
🤔Ever wondered about the time investment behind creating the perfect event setup?
Well, first of all every event is different so times are going to vary.
✨ Onsite - Our average event setups can range from a swift 30 minutes to a sprawling 3 hours or more, depending on the event's scale and complexity.
✨ Prep - Countless hours are poured into pre-event preparation, incorporating an average of 8-10 hours per event for tasks such as design, balloon and decal preparation, painting, crafting, table decor, and stock selection.
✨ Communication - Often overlooked, extensive hours are dedicated to client communication, finalizing concepts, processing payments, and managing invoices.
✨ Travel - Factor in travel time, which is often quadrupled due to multiple trips for setup and bump outs. With an average travel time of an hour, this translates to around 2 hours spent solely on commuting to and from the event, if we're also considering van loading and unloading, this totals to an additional approximate 1.5 hours. And that’s not including the time and travel spent gathering supplies prior to event.
Understanding the aspects and time investments involved in event setup is crucial for clients to appreciate the pricing structure, as time is indeed money in our line of work. Let's shed some light on the effort behind every event!✨
Things I don't charge an additional fee for:
✎Repainting arches: I think this is one of our favorite parts of the job. I love taking the balloons to color match so it’s the perfect match for your event.
✎ Double stuffing: Unless a client specifically asks for double stuffed balloons, I will not charge an additional fee for outdoor events.
✎ Mock ups: Now I know some may not understand this but let me explain why. Mock ups are my way of designing and visualizing a set up. This is a service I do for MYSELF and my CLIENT. Harsh truth, but no client would typically ask for this or pay an additional fee to have it done. This is something I offer for free to show you I'm grateful and excited to be your balloon artist! Also to give you a visual of all your ideas put together.
✎ Creative Freedom fees: If I make a mock up and you agree but then I add on some extra the day of (I usually do!)...I don't charge additional. Sometimes when we get to the space things need tweaking and I'm not going to request additional payment for a few extra balloons clusters added to the garland. I treat your event like my own!
✎ Strike fee: Did you know some balloon businesses charge you to pop balloons at the end of the event? If I'm already coming back to collect rental items, this is not a fee you will ever see from me. Most times little kiddos ask to pop them and if the client doesn’t want the balloons to take home or keep longer I’ll just take my rental items and leave. Typically the balloons I use can last up to a month so if you want to have up all month go for it. I'm happy to help if I'm already there so once I’m done with my stuff I’ll ask if there’s anything else you’d need help with or if there’s anything I can do. Trust me I know how tiring it is after a party and clean up.
✎ Kindness: Almost every event I go to, we end up helping out above what we are paid for. That could be helping you unload the car (shout out to my husband for this one), he
✨ Why do I require a 50% reservation fee ?
There is SO MUCH event planning, designing, and labor that goes into your order before I even arrive. Ordering balloons, sorting and pulling inventory for your order, repainting arches, prepping supply boxes, hanging materials, delivery, and the list goes on.
This is another reason your total balance is due two weeks before your event! The bulk of your project is planned and prepped before delivery. This helps ensure the cost is covered on the front end and I don't come out of my own pocket in the event of a last minute cancellation! 🫶🏽

• Thanks for sending a quote but this is out of my price range
• Thanks for taking the time to provide a quote, however we’ve changed our minds
• Thank you for sending but weve decided to go with someone else
• Thank you for your time. This is a little over our budget… could you suggest any alternatives
Here are a few things ive learned when starting this business.🤍
Firstly - using cheap balloons! Looking at old photos at the very beginning of JC's Boujee Balloons bring back a mix of emotions for me! I love looking at how far l've come... but really Amazon balloon kits. (in my defence I didn't know branded balloons were a thing, I just thought a balloon was a balloon)
Instead use quality brands such as
@kalisanballoons
@sempertex
@tuftexballoons
@qualatex
@ellies_brand
To name a few
Secondly - underselling myself to get clients to book! Most of us have been there, feeling pressured to reduce our prices. Do not fall into this trap!Just because someone doesn't value your prices or can't afford your work, does not mean you are too expensive or need to alter your prices. 🤍
Think of it this way, I wouldn't pay more than $20 for a cup, that doesn't mean there aren't cups for sale 10 times that amount in shops-and people still buy them.
And lastly- Like any form of art, artists have mediums, products and briefs they prefer and don't prefer and that's ok!!! Don't follow what you don't enjoy just because ... instead follow your heart and have fun!! Truly expressing who YOU are 🤍
Having a party soon ? Let me help turn your mock up to reality
