****Important info for prom****
I keep getting people messaging me to see about prom tickets saying they were not able to get them before our deadline. I had said I would not do tickets at the door but with the amount of messages I am receiving and asking for tickets I will extend sales and allow people to purchase at the door. We tried to prevent this because we have a hard time getting someone to stay at the door and collect from everyone. Please pass the word on. If you have not gotten your tickets yet you can get at the door. I have a couple parents that will be in charge of this at the door of prom. Everyone must enter and pay or give a ticket to get in. Students will be given a wristband once they are at prom to show they paid. Parents coming to watch and spectators will be charged the $5.00 a person at the door as well.
Senior March is going to start at 8 pm and then prom court and crowning will be immediately after that. All seniors will need to check in at the door so we can make sure that you are on the list for senior March or prom court to line you up. Lineup will start at 745pm. Please make sure you are there by this time.
We have several parents asking to come chaperone prom. As much as I am grateful for all the volunteers for this, we really needed volunteers for other things but at this time, I am very good on chaperones at this time. We have over the amount we need for this and I am not taking anymore chaperones at this time, I'm sorry. We want the kids to enjoy themselves and we will have plenty of chaperones there the night of prom. We can not take anymore at this time. Thanks for all the messages asking to volunteer for this though.
One last thing*** THE PROM, ORGANIZERS, CHAPERONES, OR BUILDING OWNERS ARE NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY ALCOHOL CONSUMED BEFORE, DURING, OR AFTER PROM. WE ARE NOT SELLING OR SERVING ANY ALCOHOL AT PROM. **** we are not checking cups brought in or anything like that. Students are allowed to come and go from the building but we will not allow loitering or congregating in the parking lot. The acadia parish sheriff office will be in the vacinity if we see any disturbances or problems and will be called if necessary. If we see anyone intoxicated and are driving we will pull the keys from them and a parent will be called. If the student does not cooperate in this we will be forced to have acadia parish sheriff's office do their job and deal with it. This is for the safety of everyone at prom. I want you all to have fun but do it responsibly please. Parents make sure and take note WE are simply putting prom on, not serving or selling alcohol at prom. I know lots of parents allow their kids to drink and are ok with it but we are not responsible if they consume any alcohol before, during, or after prom. Any questions please let me know. Thanks everyone!!
