It hasn’t been a problem until recently, but there is another Cornfed Catering that has a FB page and operates under the same name as us in Texas. We know how hard it is to operate a small business in today’s volatile economy. We are not affiliated with Cornfed Catering and will be contacting them in hopes of a quick remedy regarding the usage of our name.

We are the original and are registered with the State of Texas under Corn Fed Catering LLC. To clear up any confusion, we are located in Springtown, TX, NOT Sherman, TX, and while we cater BBQ often, we do not have a BBQ food truck. We are so sorry for the confusion this has caused and we look forward to an amicable resolution.

We have extra menu items so we decided to begin the distribution of Karen's Purse with ready to eat meals that will be available for pickup at our restaurant tomorrow afternoon/evening free of charge. There is a limited amount of food available and meals must be prearranged for pickup.

We were honored to be a part of this faith based holiday movie filmed right here in DFW as the caterer and craft service provider. If you are ready for laughter and tears and to enjoy a feel good, family friendly production, we highly recommend Bringing Back Christmas. Fun fact, this was filmed in the Texas heat in JULY. 100 plus temps outside with cast costumed in winter attire, coats, and scarves…and you would never know it…consummate professionals.

Many of our followers may recall we posted a special remembrance photo of a woman by the name of Karen on opening night back in September. Karen was Chef Trent's mother-in-law, who had lived with them for many years. Jennifer, his wife, was extremely close to her mother and cared for her during her time in hospice and was by her side as she passed.

Karen was humble and taught her entire family the meaning of hard work. She had very little, but what she did have, she freely gave. She was the definition of selfless, often times opening her purse and asking, "What do you need?" knowing this would mean she would not have enough for herself. The purse pictured in the photo is a likeness of her actual pink purse she carried with her until her passing.

We are so very proud to announce we would like to continue our Mom's legacy with the creation of Karen's Purse, which will be a fund established solely to provide payment in full for prepared meals for hungry families in our area. So many of us are just hard working people trying to make ends meet. We recognize this economy is taking its toll on so many. We understand that sometimes those ends just don't meet and most hard working people make too much money to qualify for assistance. That's why Karen's Purse was born...to stand in the gap for those people that just need a break but would otherwise never ask.

We will kick off the fund with a ticketed New Year's Eve Gatsby Gala. This will be a night of 1920's inspired attire, delicious food, champagne, photo ops, raffles & prizes, and so much more! Net proceeds will go directly into the fund so that we can begin assisting people immediately in 2024. We will have 75 tickets available for purchase so please consider joining us for New Year's Eve. And follow us closely for announcements on how and when to purchase tickets and to learn more about Karen's Purse.
