“Don Saladito”

Orange Sorbet w/ Dried Salted Plum

The story of a neighborhood Hero turned Legend, There’s a proverb that say’s “it take a village to raise a child”. The wise “Don Saladito” understood this and took initiative to do his part. He set up a humble sweets stand and sold traditional Mexican candies outside his apartment is San Diego. All the children in the neighborhood knew and respected him. He was a Pilar of his community and a place where children could find safety and acceptance. He was inclusive of everyone, an example of a “God Fearing Man”. Believe it or not I never met him. His story took place in the late 60’s and early 70’s. I only heard about it from my mother, my uncles and aunt. They talk about him to this day. One of the stories they tell is of their favorite thing they would buy. An orange, cut In half and stuffed with a “Saladito”, a dried salted plum. In honor of this great man we have recreated this flavor. Floral, sweet citrus flavors balanced by the salt which enhances the flavors of the orange and keeps you coming back for more. Refreshing and light this flavor takes you back to a better time and a sweeter place.

Pair with a flavorful Reposado from and enjoy.

Salut Don Saladito! Cheers!

I began catering because I understood that it’s truly a blessing to experience what it feels like feeding people good food. To see how food brings people together, how it comforts and brings joy to people can truly be beautiful. It can also be sad, sad that many folks are disconnected from quality foods, that they feed their children processed chemicals and how many cultures have all but lost their food identity’s and family recipes. Even worse that there are families and especially children who will go to sleep tonight with an empty stomach.

I was taught that we are stuarts to the blessing and talents God has given us. We are blessed so we can bless others. Our talents are there to bring praise to God who gave them to us. I believe in using your voice for good. My Goal for 2024 is simple. Feed everyone I can. Especially those in need. Help me in helping others by sharing my page and telling others about my small business. Or even booking your next event with us. The more people book catering events with us the more resources we have to help those in need

Thanks for your time and have a wonderful New Year. Gracias A Dios

Sopa de Fideo is available on our kids menu.

Take a little Carne Asada or Pollo Asado, a bit of Queso Fresco, a splash of our salsa molcajete maybe, squeeze of lime perhaps?

Now all of sudden that kids menu is looking a little better.
